Question about Whirlpool GS6NBEXR Side by Side Refrigerator
My ice maker is working fine and the ice cubes are crushed but as they leave the crushing mechanism and go into the door outlet, they freeze to the plastic lining and don't come out the door outlet. I try cleaning it out and making sure it is all free of ice, but it happens again, immediately.
Look at the circular flap that covers the outlet of the ice, see that it seals correctly as it closes. if there is a damage on the flap or it is not sealing tightly then frost will accumulate on the door because fresh air are coming in the door flap. if it is damage, replace the door flap. if it is stucking up, loosen up the mechanism.

Hi: There is a flap right where the ice dispenses. When you remove the bin you will see it when inverted. This flap has to open for the ice to be cubed. You might rember a slap as it swung open when it worked. There is a bar that runs from the flap to the back of the dispenser. Work it manually to see if it's jammed or broken. If not look at the back of the freezer and remove the metal panel if neccessary, to find the jam or defective part. I hope this helps, Jeff

Very problematic issue with this model .Try unplugging and plugging the fridgerator which resets the board. The board is located on top under a removeable panel where the power cord enters....there is a reset/diagnostic button on the board itself.Contact LGUSA.com for any possible warranty and complain like crazy to avoid spending $300 on this board which can be purchased from andrewselectronics.com who is a factory authorized parts provider.Keeping that ice maker going will make you pull your hair out which is unfortuante for such a stylish and expensive fridge.good luck

I have a GE TFX25ppbaaa refrigerator. The ice maker corkscrew motor would run and provide crushed ice only. The corkscrew motor would not run when the switch was moved to the cubed ice ( half moon) setting.
I replaced the large Light/ water/ crushed ice/cubed ice switch , ( product service number GEH WR55X129 ) ( part number GE 162D6372 PO17 )and it fixed the problem. Cost was about $43.00.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
