I had this same problem on a switch a while ago. what version of CATos are you running on this switch. the blade you are using might not be upto date.

I had a 6506 with 10/100 modules/ upon installation of 10/100 with inline power the chasis would not detect it but would detect the board.

I updated the CATos version and it worked

Huawei GE optical port with 1310 SFP module can connect to Cisco 3750X GE ports with GLC-LH-SMD?

The Cisco switch will probably err-disable the port when you plug it in. The workaround is to add these commands:
Switch(config)#service unsupported-transciever
Switch(config)#no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid
It'll either work or it won't!

How to reset admin user password or get it from config file shown in it as hash

I have encountered other stubborn IP devices which resist reset.
Most of them will reset if one uses the 30 30 30 method.
Try it, press the reset button in for the following.
30 seconds with the power on, still pressing it in remove power and count another 30 seconds, now re-power it on still with it press for the last 30 seconds.
I have found that this time can be shortened for some devices but the cycle still is reruired. Good luck...

How to clear all existing VLAN on a Cisco Catalyst 6513 switch?

Asuming you have a sup720,
in the enable mode do a
erase const_nvram:
this is where the file vlan.dat is.
deleting that file is not allowed so eraseing the filesystem is the only option.

I just replaced cisco 4506 with new 4506-e, the uplink port didn't work for trunking

Hi, if you installed a Supervisor 6L-E 10GE (X2) in the new 4506-E and you want to use the two 10GE uplinks as Gigabit, you need to type in the following config lines:

hw-module module 1 port-group 1 select gigabitethernet
hw-module module 1 port-group 2 select gigabitethernet
