Re: Unhide my folders and files
Acctualy this is a maleware problem, Install kaspersky 2010 and you will get back your hidden files, also you could get it back manualy, but you will go through system files and may damage somthing also it is not easy,so you should scan your computer with kaspersky 2010,If not, reformating your harddisk will be the solution, If it still, reply, i will be with you.

in my computer c or d drive -- go to organize -- click on folder and serach option --click on view --go to hidden files and folder -- select the option " Show hidden files and folder". then click on ok
Hello! Just search for the folder option setting and click on the view menu and click the show hidden files then ok. If you are using windows 7, just type the folder option on the start menu and it will appear. If you are unable to locate, go to control panel and search for the control panel.
Can you unhide it on your computer, but can't on other computers? If thats the case then its probably a virus. You can solve this by getting a good antivirus. I use Norton. Scan and clean up your usb device.
If this problem occurs on your computer, try the following steps:
Do this with your usb device connected to your computer
On Windows 7 or Vista, go to
Start>Control Panel>Folder Options
In folder options, click on the "view" tab and select "show hidden files, folder and drives". Apply the changes. This should do the trick.
I hope this helps.
I would suggest doing it from the file explorer and not the DOS. That is assuming your are using a a OS like windows, and not DOS. First you need to go to Folder and search options and make sure you can see hidden files and folders. Then navigate to you USB drive and right click the folder, go to properties and and hide it. If you aren't sure on how do that exactly, just reply back with your OS information and what your trying to do, and I will give more exact detail oriented steps.
to unhide file extensions to see what you have in XP open my computer (or windows explorer) Tools/Folder Options/View ...change 'Do not show hidden files and folders' to 'Show hidden files and folders' uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' if you wish you can uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'
to unhide file extensions to see what you have in Vista open my computer (or windows explorer) Organize/Folder And Search Options/View ...change 'Do not show hidden files and folders' to 'Show hidden files and folders' uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' if you wish you can uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'
probably that's because of faulty hard disk bus. replace that bus, and your problem will be most probably solved. This mostly happens when the bus connecting to hard disk are fault or not connected properly. because of this pc fails to load os....
for neerajay.. from what i understand, you cant find your files, so there must be some one that has deleted your data or you forgot where you left it
for both of you.. to find something, try using the search option from the start menu.. if you dont remember the name of the file but know the extension, type in *.doc to find word documents.. *.jpg to find pictures.. then, the results must show something that you can use to get your info back
