Question about RIM Research In Motion Blackberry Storm 9500 Smartphone - Unlocked
Did your phone eventually tell you to type in the word "blackberry"?
If it did and you complied then the phone wipes all personal data and resets itself to the out of the box configuration. If that's happened then you just connect the phone to your pc, run BlackBerry Desktop and restore all of your settings, but you will still need the password in order to do so... If you cannot find the password then you have to stick a new sim in the phone and start again.
The only exception is with BlackBerries supplied to corporate users; they usually use the Enterprise Edition of the operating system which allows the IT dept. to extensively customise phone settings and lock out user access to certain functions. It also allows them to ensure that not only is the data wiped after too many incorrect password attempts but that the phone itself can be made useless to anyone else.
