Why won't it work with other radios

The channel codes may be different between your radio and other brands. If you google FRS radio frequencies/codes you may find the cross reference you need.

I have 2 questions (not problems). 1) How do I identify the microtalk model I have so I can find a manual? 2) My unit accepts standard AAA alkaline batteries, but can I use Lithium AAAs?

  • Hi, I can help.

  • Most Motorola 2 way radios have the model identification on a paper tag on the backside of the battery cover or imprinted in the plastic under the batteries. If you are unable to find it, you can feel free to post a couple detailed pictures and I will gladly identify it for you.

  • As for weather you can use Lithium batteries for your 2way radios. The answer is yes ONLY if they say AAA and they should be from a reliable source such as Energizer. Lithium batteries can carry various voltages yet look like a normal AAA battery so be sure they are AAA from a place you trust of you risk frying your radios.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

My walkie talkies will not charge wheni place them on my charger, whywont it work

If neither of them work, then that would suggest something common to both... the Charger? Are you sure it is OK? Is it making good connection, give them a clean/scrape. Otherwise it could be dicky batteries, they go faulty all the time & for no apparent good reason.
