I have a Logitech cordless mouse but had a problem recently. It fell on the ground and the batteries fell out. Put them back in, the mouse came back on but didn't work. Pushed the button on the mouse several times, no luck. The light at the receiver was always blinking whenever I pushed the button on the mouse, so I assumed that should work. After a few tries, I ended up pushing the button at the receiver and low and behold, the mouse was working again. Have been using this mouse for years, had that problem only one.
Something may have happened to break the connection between the mouse and the receiver. You can reset the connection by pressing the Connect button on the receiver. When the light on the receiver starts to flash, press the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse. The connection should be re-established and the light should stop flashing.
you have a receiver and a mouse on both there are buttons push the button on receiver then on mouse because the receiver searches for the mouse that should work
Answer:
With the buttons toward the top:
The top LEFT slider button is for power. Slide toward the outside for ON. Light on top of mouse turns green after about 1 second, and stays green for about 10 seconds (assuming the batteries are okay). When the batteries are failing, it blinks red.
The top Right PUSH button sends a connection signal to the PC. When pressed, the indicator light on the top flashes green and red, indicating the special connection signal.
This is the mouse side of the equation (good batteries, slider turned on, connection button pressed and released.).
NOW: the PC must have a working receiver, with drivers installed, and Bluetooth software installed. it sould detect the mouse. If it asks for a passkey, say none (mouse doesn't need passkey).
You should not need Microsoft Intellipoint. it doesn't have a configuration for this particular mouse model anyway.
First put new batterys in the mouse and key board. if you don't have a tester use a flashlight. pen light. push the remote pickup. light will blinknext push key board button and the mouse next. then try it and see if it works.
sometimes do the mouse first, Then the key board
After synchronizing connecting buttons, take off battery, look for a tiny thin button that protrudes in one of the sides where the receiver is placed in mouse, hold it depressed and then install a new and fresh battery releasing simultaneously said button. Hope you solve your problem. Good luck!!!Chawah.
Look for a small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed at the bottom of mouse.
There are two possibilities for turning on the red light, one is that said button is stuck,if that is the case push it down a couple of times and see if the red light goes on, the other is that the button is broken at it's base.
Also check that battery contacts are clean and hold it firmly.
Good luck!!!
Chawah.
A friend of mine brought me this problem with exactly the same problem. here is what I found. The small notch in usb device socket under the mouse was malfunctioning. If you press this notch you will find the mouse red light blink. If you further try pressing this notch at some point the mouse red light comes on constantly. Thats it, hold it there and try to connect first by pressing the usb device connect switch and then the mouse connect switch. The moment the connection is made the usb device stops blinking and the red light on the mouse starts blinking. Wow, it works now. Some one might just open the mouse and fix this microswtich for a permanent solution.
