My brand new Rhoomba worked perfect the first time. The second time using it, I was aghast to come home to the same issue.

My marble floors now have long scratches across the wide expanses of floor. In the areas where the rhoomba (I witnessed it doing this motion the first time I let it clean) does those small geometric patterns like in confined areas, those same geometric patterns appeared scratched into my marble floors in my condo!!!!

What's worse? They do not intend to do anything to repair the damage....just refund my money.

How do I fix a squeak in a hardwood floor

squeeks in a hardwood floor most times are caused by the hardwood separating from the underlayment (board) and hence it piviots on a nail and you got a squeak !! , there are a few ways to fix this "

if the squeak is located in a spot that is accessible from under the floor , see if you can determine what hardwood and underlayment thickness is , look around behind a floor casement or around a doorway trim with flashlight , find a wood screw that is 1/8 less than this number (two added together ) also locate a drill that is just size of screw shaft you found , drill hole from under the floor (underlayment) just deep enough to penetrate the underlayment (3/4 inch or so) use tape on bit as a gauge , don't drill into hard wood then drive wood screw into hole , the idea is that screw will pull hardwood down to underlayment , screw cant grip underlayment due to hole so this is piviot point . a shot of wood glue on screw threads helps it from coming out too !!

now if space under squeak isn't accessible this is a bit harder but not impossible to do , there are a few special items to get first , one is a glue injector needle !! this typically is used making wood furniture but I have seen a meat basting syringe used in a pinch too, locate the spot close to squeak from top , using a small drill dril down at seam (not in middle of board) just deep enough to hardwood Not underlayment , load up your syringe with wood glue and force it down into hole with needle takes some force to do this , wipe off spilled glue and set a heavy object on this spot for 24 hrs object can be a lg pile of books or I use cement blocks (4) set on a piece of butcher paper (not cardboard) after 24 hr remove blocks and ck for squeak if none use hard setting tinted wood filler to plug hole you made and top off with a dot of varnish to seal it when dry and flat if you still detect the squeak then move over a board or two and repeat process till squeak is gone

Can you wash the Roomba Cleaning Head Module

I have cleaned every part of my Roomba without any problems.

Over a year ago my dog had a serious case of the runs. Before we got home my Roomba i780 equipped with it's millions of dollars worth of R&D effectively spread said dog "business" evenly to every single square inch of hardwood floor and carpet in my house. It was quite a scene, and cost me a pair of $300 Ugs to get my girlfriend to clean it up.

Needless to say I took it completely apart and washed every single component. Actually I washed each component several times because the smell lingered.

While it says in the instructions not to use cleaning solutions on the components I can say that in my experience it did not cause any harm. Mine has been working for over a year since without issue.

I should add that prior to this happening I had cleaned the cleaning head module with fantastic many many times. I'm guessing yours is starting to accumulate that mm thick film of dirt. Just spray a paper towel with cleaning solution and slowly wipe it off. I have found putting a cloth over a screwdriver for "soft scraping" is good strategy.

Why does dyson dc39 ball drag on floor which scratches hardwood and makes it difficult to push on carpet. Just started doing this after four years.

It sounds like the axle connections have gotten dirty or bound with animal hair or other material. Cleaning the axles can resolve this issue. Contact Dyson for assistance here:

Ensure you have the correct model number and purchase date when talking with the representative.

What's the best vacuum for pet hair?

Try a bagless vacuum cleaner as hair blocks up bags very quickly. One that is around 2000 watts should have enough power to do the job. As for the price check appliance stores for sales and deals.

Do; you use #1 or #4 for hardwood and tile floors

Use the 1 setting. The brushes spin but it is a soft brush and will not scratch. Make sure the thin rubber squeegee behind the brush is still in good shape. That prevent dirt from being kicked out behind the vac. Hope this Helps

Hi,

This type of problem usually is not he fault of the Shark Steam Mop.
The problem is the old residue left on the floors by other cleaners.

Here is a tip that I wrote that will help you out with that problem...

Irobot roomba brush only spins on hardwood/tile. brush stops when it hits carpet. motor prob's? fix?

Remove and clean the yellow bearing on each brush, then reinstall them. Run the Roomba and ensure that the brushes do turn on hardwood, then test it again on carpet. If the brushes still stop turning on the rug, call customer support at 1-877-855-8593. They'll be able to determine your warranty status and discuss your options.

Orech scratching hardwood floor ???

I would recommend using another cleaning method developed for use on hardwoods. It seems to me like even if you replace the wheels, eventually they will wear down again, causing more damage to your floors. Check home depot, ask them what the recommend. Hope I could help.

DC15 - scratching wooden floor

You should have an adjustment to remedy this...it is usually called a pile adjustment and is often found in the area above the beater bar.
Is the bar worn?  Is there something in the bar causing the scratches?
