Question about Garmin nuvi 1300 Car GPS Receiver
This is not due to a 'set up' problem. When seeking satellite reception - ideally you should be outside and away from tall buildings etc... It can take a good few minutes for the unit to make the connection. You should also try a different location to see if a signal is found as you may be in a poor reception area.
However, it is possible that there is more to your problem than just this. I would advise that you try resetting your Nuvi by pressing and holding the power button until you see the unit start - turn off - then restart - then release power button. This may resolve the issue.
Another thing you should check is that the GPS simulator is not turned on as this turns off the satellite reception. Touch Tools - Settings - System - GPS Simulator and ensure that this is turned OFF.
If the fault continues after taking these steps then the unit itself is faulty and should be returned under warranty.
