Question about Electrolux Dishwashers
We have an EIDW6305 Electrolux dishwasher. Nothing lights up on the display and the dishwasher does not work. Suggestions?
As you have as mentioned in your problem that nothing lights
up in the unit and dishwasher does not works this indicates that the problem is
with your controller
board and console assembly and both has to be checked.as the motor is also the
other main part which controls the unit but in that case there will be power to
the unit.but in your case there is no power to the unit.
the other main possibility which you will have to check out is
dishwasher will not start: Most common d/w power is 120 volts, check for 120 volts with a volt meter at the main power harness where it enters into the dishwasher, you will have to remove the lower access panels to get to the power box. Dishwashers also have at least one and most newer dishwashers have two door switches that must be checked. You will find then behind the console at the door latch area. Each manufacture has different designs but this is a picture of what some of the newer dishwasher switches look like.
If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:
Power from the house
Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.
The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.
Timer or selector switch
Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

Hello Shirley - Typically error code ER01 indicates that a water leak is detected under the tub. Unit will possibly need a hydraulic kit. Try unplugging the unit or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. Could the error code DF possibly be PF? If so, PF means power failure and you should be able to start a cycle. If the error code continues to display on dishwasher then I suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose and repair it.

Hello Kathy Prussack - I understand you said there are no lights on, however try unplugging the unit or flipping the household breaker off for two minutes to reset. Is there power to the unit? I suggest touching each button individually on keypad, does any lights turn on or does display change? If not, I would recommend contacting a professional because the unit may possibly have a defective keypad.
