It sounds to me like you might have a plug in the drain line between the defroster drain tray and the evaporation tray at the bottom of the refrigerator. If can get to the line at the bottom of a refrigerator and blow compressed air into it. otherwise you'll have to remove the evaporator cover in the freezer and access the line from there.

Where is the drain located on Frigidaire model r134a? is it the hole on the bottom freezer side?

R134A is not the model number. This is located inside the freezer on a white sticker on the left or right wall. Anyways, the drain is going to be located inside, behind the back wall of the freezer on the floor, directly below the Evaporator coils where all of the "cold" in your entire box is created. If you're referring to a refrigerator, there should be an aluminum tray/pan that all the defrost water drains down into. Sometimes they just freeze over & the hole becomes plugged w/ice. Hope this helps. Tips appreciated. Have a great weekend :)

Why does my whirlpool ET25DQ refrigerator leak water?

If your refrigerator has automatic defrost, the defrost water should drain from the bottom rear of the interior into a drain pan underneath. The pan may be missing or damaged or something could be preventing the defrost water from draining into the pan

Referring to previous problem. I have defrosted the drip pan, but the water is still pooling up in it. I notice there is a drain hole in the back of the pan, but the water is not draining out of it. I...

It goes through the defrost tube to underneath unit. Poor very hot water in that hole and watch underneath unit where it comes out. If nothing is coming out, then it is still blocked.

Frigidaire upright fridge freezer. The drainage hole at back of fridge part of item keeps freezing over blocking drainage from fridge

Yrur model number is missing the last three digits.... I will use FRT21H8CB1 as the example model number.
You need to do a total manual defrost with a catch basin and comprtment drain cleaning.
- Unplug the unit
- Remove fgreezer contents
- Direct an exteranl fan into the freezer compartment for just over 2 hours to ensure the compartment drain tube has defrosted.
- During the defrost period... open the fiberboard panel on the lower back of the refrigerator and clean out everything, Condensor coils, catch / drip pan (Called pan-defrost for parts), and the END of the compartment drain tube.
Model reference:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5158190&diagram_id=1311449#d1311449

Defrost pan Item 26 of above link needs to be cleaned.
Coils Item 1 need to be cleaned
Fan blade Item 61 needs to be cleaned.

The evaporator trough, drain item 17 also should be clear. Here is what you can do without tearing everything in the back of the freezer apart. Once your sure the comprtment drain tube (no item number / bulk hose) is clean on the end. Use the exhaust of a Vacuum cleaner and the hose to force air UP through the drain hose and float out any debris from the trough drain. Have a 2nd person listen for air flow into the freezer compartment if possible. The biggest problems with freezer compartment drains is the END of the hose at the defrost pan underneath the unit clogs up and then the compartment drain hose just loads up with scum. Then the freezer stops draining and you have the symtom your describing.

After the manual defrost and cleaning return the unit to normal service.

Having said all of that... if the refrigerator then freezer starts warming up in 3 - 4 days... you may have an automatic defrost problem causing the icing. I.e it is not defrosting so the evaporator eventually ices over and forms an ice block in the back and bottom of the freezer compartment. Usually if there is an ice block that forms you wil hear the evaporator fan striking the ice build up.
If this is happening... for sure there is an automatic defrosting problem and your stuck doing a manual defrost ever 3 - 4 days until repairs are complete.

One more note.. if there is NOT any compartment drain tubing visible... your unit may port evaporator tray water down the back of the fresh food compartment to the defrost pan under the unit... just clean everything that serves as a drain function best you can during the manual defrost and cleaning process.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Bottom freezer has ice building up because when it defrosts it will not drain out through the back. Ice builds up to a point where I have water draining out the front of the freezer all over the floor....

I suppose the ice is building up in the drain trough under the evaporator (inside the freezer). There are two ways used to keep the trough from ice build up. It either has a heater built into it, or the defrost heater is close enough to the trough so that when the refer goes into defrost, it would melt any ice in the drain trough. Or the hose / pipe running from the trough to the drain pan it clogged, in which case you should be able to blow it clean. Note: this hose or pipe has to have a trap similar to the one under your kitchen sink. That is to prevent air from moving up, bringing undesired moisture into the fereezer.

I have water collecting at the bottom of the frig under the crisper drawers. It appears to be coming from the freezer. Do I need to defrost and if so how?

It shouldnt need to be defrosted if it is a frost free refer. It sounds like your defrost drain line is clogged and backing up. Check the drain pan underneath refer.

The drain pipe fizes within days of total defrosting and water starts dripping in the refrigerator creating a big mess. I have defrosted the fridge and the drain pipe several times but the problem...

You will need to install a drain line heater or heat probe. When water is plugged up in the drain line, it freezes and expands. This sometimes destroys the insulation around the drain line, which causes the drain line to freeze up all the time. If you have a cal rod type defrost heating element( black metal element) Whirlpool has a drain line heater, whish is a long metal finger that clamps around the defrost heater and sticks down into your defrost drain tube. This heats up the line every time your refer goes into defrost. We have seen customers use a small length of metal wire to do the same thing, electrical or even a clothes hanger. If your defrost heater is glass, then you will have to figure out how to wire in an electical drain line heater. Ask your parts house to check with GE to see if they have one. Sub Zero has a couple but you will have to figure out how to wire it into you defrost wiring. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

FROST FREE FREEZER HAS FROST ALL OVER, AND UNDER THE CRISPERS ARE FULL OF WATER WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE DEFROSTED AND UNPLUGED ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AND IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Your defrost condensate drain beginning in the rear and bottom pan of the freezer has a blockage somewhere between the freezer and through the turns it makes going down to the condensate collion pan below the refrigerator. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are cased by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water in box waqter keeps accumulating on shelves iveg bins andunder bins

When the freezer goes through the defrost cycle, the water collects in the defrost drain pan and drains into a pan underneath the unit where it evaporates over time. If the defrost drain pan is clogged, the water will fill the pan where it will freeze. Once the pan is full of ice, the water from the defrost cycle will run over the pan and down into the fresh food section. This will require that the drain pan be clean of the ice and the drain tube cleared of ice and debris.
Hope this helps.

Evaporator fan

Check and make sure that you didn't knock a piece of insulation down onto the condenser fan when you were vacuuming off the coil. When the fan is blocked it can cause the compressor to what is called short cycle and the refer will never get up to temp. Also check your door seals. Insert a dollar bill between the gasket and frame and gently pull on it. It should be fairly tight as you check all the way around the gaskets if not you may have to replace the gaskets or adjust the door. As for the pan underneath. It should have a little moisture in it every 8 to 12 hours as it is the capture pan for the self-defrost. If not you could have a problem with your defrost heater check for ice build up on the back panel of the freezer. If there is a build up then your refer is not going into defrost and you may have a problem with the defrost heater, defrost timer, defrost thermo., etc. Be sure and check all these areas as you don't want to throw money away needlessly.
