SOURCE: The CD player in my Pure Legato 2 system won;t

I have fixed this problem in 2 Legatos. But don't attempt this if you have no experience with electrical equipment.
You need to open the case (4 screws deeply recessed in the back panel, 3 screws securing the speaker terminals and the phono socket block, and the nut and plastic washer holding the aerial socket. Gently ease the rear panel back enough to access the rear of the CD mechanism. Under the CD laser assembly carriage, there is a small trim pot (with a yellow cross-head adjuster screw). I found a small anticlockwise adjustment got the CD player working again. (I assume this trimmer increases the gain of the optical sensor amp.) Secure the rear panel before powering on again to test. It may require a little trial and error to recover the full functionality of the CD.
Good luck.

When i switch on my pure legato cd 40 the screen comes on then goes of the system works fine but i can't see the screen to access the menu can any one please help thank you.

This kind of problem is certainly a hardware problem, and there are two possibilities:
1) Problem with light background or its voltage source: you can try to see closer direct to display for some caracter with an external light source (like portable light). If you can see some caracter, you should measure voltage wich feeds display backlight and follow its voltage line.
2) Display (or driver display) damaged: If you dont see any caracter signal, you should replace the whole display module.

The CD player in my Pure Legato 2 system won;t register CDs, the last few times I listened to CDs they skipped a bit, now it won't play them at all, it just reads 'no CD'.

I recently moved my Legato Pure radio, now I have trouble tuning in the DAB radio and the display struggles to set the clock often flashing with a message saying it is wating for time to set. When it does...

Clearly, the DAB signal strength is poorer in the new radio position. Try moving it, even a foot or two can make a difference. Better still, use a roof aerial.
The display can be changed, even in standby mode - press the Display button to see the 3 options.

Sharp GX-CD610 Portable CD Stereo System; CD player revolves very slowly thus not playing CD's properly. FYI: The top of the CD player was opened prior to it completely stopping before it broke. My bad.

Since it is a portable does it take batteries or a power plug.
check the batteries. i would go to the sharp website and see if they have a support page and write to them. maybe it is still under warranty.
