    Dear maia,

Thank you for contacting Acer America. I?ll be happy to assist you.

From the mail I understand that you need Recovery disk.

The Serial Number you have provided bhyu11701909735790hS11 failed to match any existing system information in our database, we would recommend you to verify the correct Serial Number which is 22 or 13 character alphanumeric or 11 digit SNID number.

You could locate the serial number:

    - On the bottom of a notebook

    - On the back or side of a desktop

    - Under the front sliding door on a desktop

    - On the original computer box, i.e. the label on the front of your computer case that contains information that identifies your computer model and serial number.

    Also please verify the following

    1. Serial number do not contain alphabetical ?O? in the alphanumeric combination of serial numbers.

    2. We would also recommend you to confirm whether you bought the system from US or Canada. We only have information about those systems purchased in US and Canada.

With this information we would be in a better position to help you out.

I am confused why you may have rejected my suggested method of getting the recovery CD for your laptop the cheapest way. I did not think around $18 would not be the cheapest.

It would help if you post a comment to let me know what your intentions are. No point putting a single finger. Please leave the rating blank until I find out what you want.

In case you are interested in visiting anothe site - try this

What you have not mentioned is which operating system you need it for. I am assuming it is Windows XP.

Please post a comment help me solve your problem and in the meantime please do not rate this solution.

I'd lik t restore my emacns e620 laptop to the original factory settings but I dont have the disk... can still do this?

Hi

I hope i am assumming that your emachine is an acer if so i think you can do this

start
all programs
acer
acer recovery
in there it should give you a few options to :-
restore back to factory settings
re install applications
and burn a recovery disk normally about 3 dvd,s
also to burn an applications disk 1 dvd

this is really worth doing because sometimes ones hard drive will crash
losing you the ability to then restore your operating system onto a new hard drive

please if you have the option do this before you try the restore
also try to save anything that you may of put onto your laptop that you want or need to keep
either burn them to disk or copy onto a pendrive or spare usb hard drive

also i think there may be an option to get into the recovery consol by
pressing the power up key as well as F10
some laptops are power key+alt+F10

good luck
please let us know if this has helped you
so that we may be able to help others

many thanks

Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.

1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.

2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.

3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.

I cannot sytem restore my mitac p520. can you help me reset my computer to its original factory settings please?

There is no such thing as factory settings in Computer but if you have made a hard disk image or you have a recovery partition you can restore that. The last option is to completely re-install the OS.

I havean acer aspire one mini-netbook that crashed a few days ago. I don't think I need a new hhardrive but I knoe for sure that I need to re-install the OS but I don't know how to. I also don't have a cd...

Hi, You must have CD installation to reinstall the OS. Turn on your laptop, connect external CD/DVD ROM to USB. Insert the OS CD then follow the steps on your screen to complete the process. You will prompted to repair the OS during process , follow the instructions to repair OS.

I am trying to restore my acer 5735z to it's original factory settings using my 2 backup DVD disks. When I push alt + f2 +f10 it gives me a error File: \windows\system32\winload.exe ...

Please make sure you have taken the back up of all your data. If you are able to turn on the computer on normal mode successfully and insert the original Operating System recovery Disk provided by the manufacture, if not get the OS recovery disk or copy of your installed OS disk and restart the computer and press F12 key and that will prompt for resintallation.

Choose clean installation process and continue.

After reinstallion, no emachines recovery/original programs/apps

Your recovery software is usually comprised of more than one disk. You should have one windows disk in addition to the eMachines disk(s). Complete recovery requires that you use all the disks, in order to return to original state. If you are missing programs, it is because you did not use all the disks.

Option A: Go here to order a complete set of recovery disks:

https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=emachines

You will need your machine serial number to ensure you obtain the correct recovery disks; they are about 20$ plus shipping.

Option B: Use your eRecovery: Restart the computer and when it begins booting up, you have to hit repeatedly/hold down a key to enter the Recovery management menu. As for the key, it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but try the F10 key for starters. If it's not that one, try the F12, or the F8 key. That should get you pointed in the right direction. Just follow the screen prompts, and choose RECOVERY, not RESTORE. Also make sure you choose Recovery without disks.

Reply if you need more help.

Hope this helps.

OMG Ready to throw my PC out the window UGH

What operating system are you using?

I will assume you are using Windows.
To be honest those disks are ****. I hate to say it that way but try a different method. What is the original problem? Why are you using the recovery disks?

Try using System Restore which can be found by going Start>All Programs>accessories>System Tools>System Recovery.

Then choose a system restore point.

I hope this helps

I have a bad virus and need to crash my hard driveand relaod

There is no virus in existence other then bios viruses that can survive a reformat restore.
find your restore disks or call the original manufacturer to obtain the original software.
if you do not have a name brand machine. you will need to reformat yourself and re install the OS manually.

Hard drive crashed

Hi, a restore disk uses data that is stored in a hidden partition on the original drive so when you replaced the hard drive with a new one, it will not have this hidden partition. You will need to either buy a new operating system, or contact your manufacturer/supplier to see what they can do, they may format the new drive with a hidden partition like your original depending how 'nice' they are. Only other thing you can do, is get hold of an original operating system disk from somewhere if you have a COA, (certificate of authenticity) on the computer, contact Microsoft and they should be able to replace your COA serial key with a new one that will work.

If any of this needs clarifying, or you have any other questions. Please let me know! Hope this helps :) Si
