The threaded screw that goes up through the knurled adjustment screw is lost, allowing the jaw to come loose. Might be able to use a screw from another wrench.

Black and decker lids off jw200 need to release locked jaws

You may have to take the unit apart. There is not a lot of information about this. If you press the release and the top wont lift then you will have to use force. Cans are soft and you should be able to wiggle it out of the jaws

How to release a stuck wand in a shark dust away rotator vacuum?

very difficult
it can be done if you have access to a vice
place the smaller wand section in the jaws so that it slips easily but the larger part is stopped by the vice jaws
a sharp pull will break the seal effect and it will pop apart.
if the wand is metal you can enlarge the outer part at the joint by applying heat carefully with a gas lighter for a few seconds and pulling apart

M1112 chuck .0045 off center

There are three possiblities: 1. dirt interfering with the jaw position or between the jaw and the workpiece - if you loosen, tap the jaw, retighten on your work and the result is repeatable, then this is not the problem. 2. the jaw itself needs to be cut, as you are doing - this will solve the problem and give you repeatably centering so long as 1 or 3 are not the problem. 3. The most insidious problem would be that the spiral groove on the back plate which is supposed to move the three jaws in harmony has a bad spot - this would give you inconsistent centering of the jaws at different diameters and could only be fixed by re-grinding that spiral groove (this would be VERY tricky to do yourself) or replacing the backplate.
good luck!

Im taking my engine apart and i have to take out the crankshaft pulley i have and oem gear puller 2/3 jaw. it still is not coming out the screw is not long enough. i got it from auto zone and they told me...

the were wrong a three jaw that clamps around the outer rim will damage it and still not remove it. you need either the fixed steering wheel puller type that installs with 3 bolts or the puller that grabs the inner area of pulley at the spokes.if no 3 bolt holes on pulley then you have the later type and is a speciall tool check local dealer or take engine there and have them remove

I need to install a window in my vw polo. It is the back seat pasanger side window, i have already purchased it and have the inside panel off. My issue is fitting the window inplace without it smashing,...

We don't have Polo in the States but it would be the same design as a Golf or even a Jetta, even a Passat.
  1. Remove nuts from glass clamping jaws, press jaws apart, an access port would reveal both nuts at the same level
  2. Lower door glass into door, pull window channel (Window rubber gasket) out of door frame and remove center connector (metal channel strip that separates vent window. A screw on top and a hex head screw at bottom)
  3. Pull door glass upward, tilt toward front and lift out of window slot
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal
Note: Clamping jaw hex nuts torque spec.......10Nm (7ft-lb)

Drive bit won't come off drill

You can use a punch and hammer to tap the jaws back in slightly and turn the chuck as you do this to each jaw. This will at least let you get your bit out. You need to hit it hard enough to move it but not too hard as to damage it. Finesse it. After removing the bit try working the chuck jaws in and out all the way. If you feel resistance you may want to get a new chuck.

Jaws jammed in housing

What you might try is to spray some oil into the chuck and then using the key again, making sure of the proper rotation try and turn it while GENTLYY tapping on the collar with a small hammer (better brass) and see if this doesn't loosen them up. Good Luck. Dave

Single handle Delta Kitchen Faucet

The red/blue cover just hides the screw that allows you to remove the handle.

Turn off the water :-)

Remove the handle, you will see that part of the faucet is a large half moon nut. sometimes you can loosen these with your hands, but most times you will need a tool. To avoid damaging the finish with the tool, use smooth jaw tools or protect the nut with a thin piece of rubber/cardboard etc between the jaws of the tool and the nut.

You can then remove the ball/stem, the washers and springs.
Replace the stem, washers and springs and reassemble just as you took it apart.
Be carefull that the little "nipple" lines up with the notches properly.

Take care that you know exactly how it came apart and which direction each prt was facing.
