Same problem. I think we're all stuck with it, at least for now. Intel is of no assistance after many contacts, and the tech from Dell said they simply don't have the correct driver for our adapter (which is the problem), not to this date anyway according to him.
The diagnose and repair feature on Windows 7 will fix it until the next nap time. Just leave it on until you're absolutely finished in the evening, or whenever. I think that's all we can do

I have just purchased a Belkin N600 modem router. I have attached my Canon i850 printer to the USB port on the router but I cannot print. The green USB LED is not illuminated. Can you help, please? ...

I think you need to connect your printer to the router using an ethernet cable and not a USB cable. Ethernet cables are plug-and-play cables and doesn't require you to install a software. If you really need to connect your printer using a USB cable, you need to connect it to your PC so that the PC will run the installation wizard to install the USB cable. Of course the router cannot run installation wizard to the printer or the printer cannot run installation wizard to the router.

I re-imaged the unit & it says the network card is working properly in device mgr. But it wont go online when i connect a cable. It stays on "Network Cable Unplugged". The LED on the connection on the...

1. Try different cable if possible.
2. Check the network port of the laptop. Make sure the pins are in tact and there is no dust/dirt or anything blocking the port.
3. Verify the other end as well. Check the hub/modem/switch or whatever you are plugging into. Make sure it's securely plugged in.
4. If plugging into a router, make sure you aren't plugged into the Uplink or Modem port. If it's a simple 4 port hub, avoid plugging into the uplink port as well.
5. If you have a cable modem that plugs into a router then into your computer, test by powering everything down. Plug the laptop directly into modem's ethernet port. Turn power on to modem. Turn power on to laptop. Check your network light and test internet. If it works there's something wrong with router. If it doesn't, look to the cable for issues.
6. Lastly, if none of those steps worked, remove the ethernet driver and reboot laptop. Let Windows detect the ethernet card, then re-install the driver choosing to overwrite the existing. Know that Windows will tell you you're device is ok just because a driver loaded successfully. It doesn't always know if the driver is the correct one.

Will not work with usb cable

With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install - (1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue

You shouldn't need the USB driver 2.0 from mercury because windows installs this with SP2. Suggest you un-install what you installed from mercury & update your version of windows (completley), through "Windows Update". Once windows is all updated & you have finished with a reboot. Plug your pen drive in a opened usb port. Open windows explorer. Scroll down & you should see an icon (left side of explorer), thats named like, Removable Disk. Give windows time to see the device. After a few minutes if your pen device does not show up try another usb port. One you know does work. If after a couple of minutes go by & you still don't see the device listed in explorer I would say the device is defective. Your Mp4 uses a cable to connect to the usb. Try connecting to another PC's usb port. It is possible the cable is dirty or bad.
