Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
To clean the pump on a top load u can take the cabinet off to get acess if u know how to remove the parts or disssemble it if not......
tip washer back so u can acesss underneath, unplug unit, turn water offf, get a bucket and towels and channel locks remove clamps that hold it to motor,, remove clamps for hoses on each port empty contents into bin, thats bout it if defective must replace either part # 3363394 (both port holes the same) it is the most common or a 3363892 (bigger port hole on one side)
if u have a fronload remove bottom panel by removing screws below panel, remove, same thing water and power off, turn drain pump cap off, empty contents into small pan and inspect, these pumps arent reallly serviceble so if defective its best to replace the partts hope this helps have a good day
