I have done so by getting another working drive exactly the same & replacing the motherboard of the bad drive, this works as long as the internals aren't fried.

here is the best way to get some of your files back.

1.) Stop using the hard drive IMMEDIATELY! Do not drag or create any files on it.
2.) Download asoftech data recovery program : http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
3.) Install and run the data recovery program against the hard disk

Good luck.

I feel a burning smell from the control board of My ST3250310AS seagate HDD. How can I recover my data

If the control board actually burned, the only way to get data off of the drive is to replace the control board. The only way to do that is to use a clean room, clean suits and replace the control board.
I'd suggest contacting a local data recovery service, they have these items available.

It's going to be upwards of $500 to recover to data, probably not worth it.

My laptop is come on, but ist'n open the windwo .I do not create a recover CD and I need one to install all the program. P.S. Wath I can do?

data may be lost but not completely.
There is a solution and the problem is known.

1. if data is on C: drive. get a spare HDD to recover it.
2. else do an OS repair.
how?
2.1 insert OS Disk.
2.2 follow instructions until you see repair option.
2.3 The system if recovered . Save the data on a USB thumb Drive or burn it on a Disk.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 300 Gb - power problem

it really all depends on how far the damage is. I have swapped the controller board on a hard drive that had failed with one from an identical drive and was able to retrive the data. This is not a very common thing that works. Your data is most likly still entact on the platters. However, if the motor is damaged it would require expert and very expensive help to recover the data.

If you have access to being able to swap controllers then try it. This may get your data back.

Burned Seagate Drive

Sounds like the board is bad. You may be able to recover data and repair it by replacing the logic board.

If you have an extra identical hard drive you can use the logic board from that one.
