Question about Sony Cybershot DSC-T200 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Photo with split screen

Occasionally the photo taken shows the top half of the screen darker than the bottom as if they were two separate photos taken of the same thing and put together. Is that a camera problem or a setting problem?

Hey I have the same problem here. The picture would be divided into multiple sections with different shades of color with a slight shift in between the section of the images.

I originally though this was due to a bad memory card (2gb high speed pro duo) so I sent it back and got a new one. I thought I fixed it but after 2 weeks of using the camera the problem came back. Now it would also have pictures that I have reformatted a long time ago appearing in portions of the new picture. This problem gets worse every time I access it to view the picture in the camera. Out of 100 pictures, 1/2 is good, 1/4 is file error and 1/4 is pictures is broken into segments and sometime mix with old pictures.

This is really irritating because this is my first Sony camera and its very problematic. I own a Canon SD20 before this and the camera was flawless in terms of capturing and saving images.

My theory is that either the camera logic board is bad or I have another bad memory card. Something is off when the electronics are trying to keep a reference point between each picture's set binary bits. So the more we access the camera in the view mode the worse the picture will get.

I'm gonna call Sony Corp pretty soon here to see what they have to say.

    Hi
I have exactly the same problem. A growing number of my pictures (now about 1 in 5) have this sort of split screen, which is in different colours. Seems like one half of hte screen is scanned and exposed slightly differently to to the other half. My screen splits horizontally. Anyone who knows how to fix?

New photo files write over existing files.

How large is your memory card? If you're shooting at the full 9mp and highest quality, that takes up a lot of room on a small card.
