Where is the terminal block

A terminal block is where wires from a unit (normally factory installed) will "dead end" at a strip of block where an installer can tie in field installed wires. Low voltage wires may plug into the back of a terminal block from the factory, and in the field (or at the home) I will tie in wires to the front of the terminal block, normally where the Phillips screws are for me to secure wires to the terminal block.

Replace worn electrical cord

Terminal block is fastened/secured with body by a screw but before removing the terminal block from body, make sure that the iron element terminals are also disconnected. this can be done by opening the screws on other side of the cord terminals-3 in number as also in the cord. Otherwise the terminal block would not come out fully. In any case you normally do not need to remove the terminal block.

The terminal block at rear of stove had a suppressor board mounted behind it and then fastened to stove back by #9-15 x 1 inch screw. The rear solder joints of the suppressor board would all be touching...

Hi - there are two types of suppressors these days - 2 & traditional 3 tails - 3 tails used to be connected across the phase-neutral-earth - these days the 2 tails are connected across the phase-neutral conductors - its purpose to eliminate the cracklings to tv/radio waves..

I tried to locate the parts you refer to on the website .. will look some more

I had to change the3 power cable because the black cable broke. Now my dryer wont start. How do I fix this

To install a 3-prong power cord on your dryer, use the following color code at the terminal block:

RED - HOT (120VAC)

Match the corresponding wires to the colors present at the terminal block. The Neutral wire should have a ground strap to the equipment cabinet. If there are no colors on the wires, the two outer wires (left and right on the terminal block) are the HOT leads. The center wire is Neutral.

If you have already correctly installed the power cord, check your thermal fuse. The fuse will trip in an over current condition and will need to be replaced. A wire buring in half will case this. The fuse is located on the blower fan housing inside the dryer.

In addition, check your circuit breaker. Some homes use two 120VAC breakers to provide the 220-240VAC for the dryer power. You may have a breaker tripped.

If you have any questions about this repair, please let me know. Post back with your complete model number so that I may be able to assist you better. I hope this helps you.

Replace power cord on GE cloths dryer

just remember on a 3 wire cord(if it is gray) the middle wire always goes on the middle of the terminal, the 2 outside wires get mounted one on each side on the terminal broke,if it is a 4 wire cord the white goes on the middle of terminal block, the red and black get mounted one each each side of the terminal block(it does not matter which side you put the red or black wire they are both 120 volt) the green wire gets mounted to the cabinet where ever you can mount it(to metal) your done-mike
