Goodman GS9 propane furnace inducer motor runs continuously

Goodman GSM9 propane furnace inducer motor runs continuously without T/S calling for heat. Checked all limit switces OK except no voltage at 1 of the inducer pressure switches. No error codes - LED ''ON''. If power is recycled unit fires & run until T/S stops calling for heat. Then fire goes out and inducer runs continuously. Will only relight if power is cycled.

It sounds like the low temp limit switch, the one that cools the furnace down with the burner off and the thermostat open, when it cools to a point the fan stops, the other switch in burner area turns burner off/on, hope this helps

I have a Heil H9MPDO75F2AZ QUIET COMFORT FURNACE and have replaced pressure switch and still not running

Hi Kim,
A couple things to check:

1) OK, you've replaced the pressure switch - good stuff. But the neoprene hose running from the pressure switch to the inducer motor... does it have any tears or cracks? Is the hose fittings clogged on the inducer side? Clean/replace as necessary if so. You cannot have any leaks or restrictions in this hose.

2) Try disconnecting the inducer (spent fumes exhaust fan) motor and check this motor coil for continuity with a multimeter. If the motor coil is dead, you'll need to replace the inducer (about $120.00?).

3) Check during initial startup of a heating cycle that there actually is 120vac arriving at the inducer motor coming in from the control board. If not, your board may be at fault.

Hope this helps!

Good morninng, My Goodman furnace inducer stops and starts at various intervals. At times it runs fine but starts the same issue. Everything starts up accordingly, runs and then the inducer stops for...

Replacing the board, flame sensor, and pressure switch, and cleaning out the induction motor was definitely a good start. Other things to check would be a blocked or restricted flue pipe, I have ran into a few bird nest before!, and you also want to check or replace the hose that runs from the inducer to the pressure switch if you haven't already. To be honest, most of the time I clear out the nipple on the inducer where the hose goes with a small piece of wire and it works. The last thing I would suggest is making sure the new pressure switch is rated for what you need. Alot of the revisions on furnaces actually call for less than the original pressure just for this problem. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hello there, I have a Goodman GMH951155DXAC furnace that I got in 2007. I have the following problem for the last 4 years: When the thermostat calls for heat the induced draft motor comes on and 30-40...

With furnace OFF ,Disconnect the top of the hose that leads to the
Bottom of Daft inducer Box, Now blow into it water will come out
of the drain hoses "condensation " this will shut the unit down if not drained. There must be a Trap on the side of the Furnace with water in it , to have positive presure to suck out condensation. This will fix problem. some installers forget to install this Trap that comes with Unit.....!!!! A little item
that will shut the whole system DOWN. :o)

I have a Goodman GS95 and the inducer blower has water in it. I have taken it off 3 times now and dumped the water out to get it to run for a little while ,but it gets water in it then no heat?

First of all the water is normal in a 90+ efficient furnace. However it should be draining off before there is a problem. If the furnace was installed correctly there will be a couple of drain hoses near inducer motor that lead to a main collector on the side of the furnace. Check that those drain hoses are clear of debris and that the plastic collector on the side of the furnace has standing water in it too. From here continue checking for blockages in the drain system all the way to the floor drain or termination point. Hope this helps.

Our furnace keeps shutting down soon after burner ignites inducer motor stays running wont heat until reset switch behind inducer motor is pushed

Sometimes a "Flame Sensor" gets carboned up and does not detect that the furnace has ignited, so it shuts down the fuel source. Might try cleaning that if so equipped.

GMPN 100-4 furnace. Blower motor runs when not calling for heat.

The board is bad. The unit thinks a flame is present, so it tells the blower to come on. Replace the board.

Janitrol/Goodman GMP075-3 Draft Inducer Fan Won't come on

most forced draft fans are powered by 120 volts . close to the fan is usually a plug that unsnaps. create a call for heat after turning off to clear safetys and see if your getting 120 to fan on initial call for heat. if you are then fan draft motor is bad, usually sold as an entire assembly replace exact as it came out. sequence of operation is..... stat calls for heat via common and white wire to furnace , 24 volts. ......board sences call and sends 120 volts to forced draft ........ motor runs and creates pressure on proofing switch,....... switch closes 24 to board and tells it draft fan is on......... board then energizes ignitor,....... after ignitior glows gas valve is opened and burner lights ........ either ignitor or seperate sensor rod tells board the burner lit........ and a few minutes later the fan comes on and hot air is blown out. if a step is missed or doesn't proof the furnace either trys up to three times to light or locks out. turning off power usually resets safetys and it will resume attempts to lite normally.
