Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV
My otherwise brand new set has a crack in the inner screen, no picture and only a loud buzzing sound coming from within. I’ve found parts dealers but most have little if any part descriptions. Is the inner screen replaceable and is the crack causing the buzzing sound? Any help would be appreciated very much.
Screen is cracked is there a replacement or can you find a replacement
You can have it repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new tv. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

The plasma panel in most cases exceeds the cost of replacing the TV. There is also the issue that they tend to use different versions and makes of panels in these sets. Some panels are made by Samsung and some are made by LG. I would start shopping for a replacement TV at this point.
