Question about Gateway (6000598) Modem

I need to set up an email as follows: I have found no domain site or any other place that will allow this, due to the @ in the address.

    Thanks, this website is already owned by the person who asked for me to use the email I stated. I am a reporter for his radio show and it would be necessary for visitors to his site to get in contact with me through that address. Someone suggested I ask how he set up the site and do it that way, but he had someone else do it for him. I have contacted three other reporters with no response yet on how they accomplished getting theirs up and running. I thought there may be a specific site that would allow the @ to be added, but apparently not.

    I am a reporter on a national CBS radio show. The person who has that show, has given me the email to use so that people can reach me to ask questions. He did not set up his own site, but had someone do it. Each time I find a place to register this email address, it will not accept the character @ in the address, but inserts a - or doesn't use anything. The person who has the site and the show has already posted this address for me on his website. I have tried to contact the other reporters to find out if their addresses are up and running but have not been able to get a response. I am asking where I can get the @ to be accepted in my address.

First you need to buy the site then once you have the site, set self email options. Then type the new name.

What is DNS configuraion ?

DNS configuration is what you do to setup the name server for either a website or for your computer. Domain name servers find the IP (Internet Protocol). Everything that connects to the internt has an IP address. IP addresses are for location the machine. They are of the form where xyz is a number between 0 and 255. A domain name would be something like, which is easier for people to remember than the numbers. A Domain Name server translates the name to the numbers. Your ISP has one to do the the translation for you. For a web server (computer that hosts a website like, the webhost has a Domain Name Server that allows the computer that runs the webserver to be found. Configuration in that case would be to allow the website to find other sites, and to be found by other sites. Configure A-records

Transfer your domain name to Godaddy. Then, once the transfer is complete (and Godaddy customer service will gladly walk you through this process), properly set the A records to Weebly. Done! :) Domain transfers may take up to 7 days.

In a way, yes. Once you open up your gmail account, go to Mail Settings *under the gear in the upper-right corner*, then go to Accounts and Settings, and click the button "send mail as another account." It will go through a process where it sends an email to the other address and you need to verify it, then you can send emails and have them appear as the other address.
Just remember: when you compose the email you need to change the Send From field to reflect the address you desire the recipient to see.

I keep getting the following when opening or sending mail: The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for...

Quick summary:
It appears that email address does not exist - which is why your email program was unable to send the message. There may be a small typographical error in the address - which you would need to correct in order to send the message successfully.

The error message you received says the "domain does not resolve". That means your outgoing server (which is used for sending messages) couldn't find the information about the recipient's address -- and more specifically, the "domain" of the recipient's address. (That's the portion of an email address following the "@" sign.)

The error message indicates the domain of the recipient's address is "". But a quick check of domain registration records indicates there is no registered domain by that name. And if a domain is not registered, there can't be any websites or email addresses which use that domain name.

However, there is a properly registered domain "" (with a "d" rather than a "c"). That seems much more likely - as the combination of recognizable words ("quick" "fire" "productions"). That domain is registered to owners in Florida, USA. See details at:

If that registered domain name sounds right, then you should revise the email address in your message to use the correct domain name (i.e., replacing the "c" with a "d").

ok, this normally happens when the email receiver doesn't exist, however with my past experience with MS Outlook - it doesn't work unless it's set up correctly and specifically - and it's VERY difficult to do just right. I would suggest going with regular Hotmail and AOL accounts, they're free and there's no setup process apart from filling in the form to apply for the account.

This is not an outlook issue. This error is generated by the recipient's mail server basically saying that your domain/server isn't in their DNS list, so they don't trust your mail yet.

If you've only recently set up your email system make sure that the DNS records are all in place for your email domain - most notably your MX record (should also consider SPF record.)

If you've recently set up the DNS records, then try giving them some more time to populate on the internet.

So I had the same problem using a Network Solutions mail account and got it working. Here is what I did:

Name: Whatever you want
Address: (user specific) Must include the @domain
Description: same as above
User Name: (user specific) Must include the @domain
password: password
Host name:
Username:no entry
password:no entry

At message that SSL failed select YES to continue without using SSL should get message twice (incoming & outgoing server tests)

Made no changes to Authentication (default-password) or Server port (default-25)

Came up and began to load mail instantly.Sent test mail and all is good.

Which ever application you use (let me know specifically), you will almost always choose creating a POP account. You need from your service providers the following items.
  1. SMTP domain (ie.
  2. POP domain (ie.
  3. Username to your email (ie.
  4. Password for this account.
Your ISP will most likely have instructions about how to connect to them. If you go to their support and type in POP3 with Outlook or Outlook Express. You'll most likely get a hit.

In Outlook, go to Tools | Account Settings | Email to add the accounts.
