Your cam is perfect. when youuse it from my computer> view my cam> u see faster. But when you on your cam in messenger there is 1 or 2 sec delay. Its happend by internet speed. But as per your information 1 - 2 sec delay is a good result of your web cam . Just enjoy it.
Some people face 3-4 sec delay. all of these depend on internet upload speed.
Thanks & waiting for your feedback

Making your own visual effects without special equipment

Most computers today come with a video editing software that at least has basic functions that one would need to create many different kinds of visual effects. All you need for the two most common visual effects are a computer with a movie maker and a digital camera that shoots video. The most commonly used visual effects are stop-motion and Jump cut editing.

To create stop-motion of say your pen opening itself you would take a series of photos with a slight change in position in every shot. Then at the end you take all the shots and play them together at about .5-1 second per image and it will look like the object is moving on its own. This is particularly useful for when you want to make a person look like they are jumping into an object or flying.

Jump cut, is the most commonly used technique for visual effects. What you do is film the person or object that you want to disappear, then stop filming remove them from the camera's view and the continue filming. When the two shots are played together as one then it appears that the person or object disappears. You can use this technique to make someone appear and disappear anywhere in your shots.

The built-in Motion Eye Camera is designed to add video functionality to many instant Messaging or video editing Software applications (such as Windows Messenger or MovieMaker). However the configuration process and support for how to set-up these individual applications is provided by the Software manufacturer, not Sony. Please contact your Yahoo Messenger support team for assistance on how to configure their Software.

TIP: Simply turning on your Computer activates that camera, so no specific
action is required to start the video services. Please note that only one
application can access the video signal at a time. If the signal is already
in use by one application, it will not be able to be detected by a second

Follow this procedure to take still image pictures with the integrated Sony Motion Eye camera.
1. On the taskbar, click Start and then click My Computer.
2. In the My Computer window, double-click the Sony Visual Communications icon.
3. In the Sony Visual Communications window, under Camera Tasks, click Take new picture.

Follow this procedure to capture video with the integrated Sony Motion Eye camera.
1. On the taskbar, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Movie Maker.
2. In the Windows Movie Maker window, on the left side under Capture Video, click Capture from video device.

Flash Setting Causes Delay

Without seeing the image, it's difficult to pinpoint the problem. But, going on the description you've described here, my guess would be that your shutter speed is too low to record any movement sharply, or is recording movement you are making while holding the camera. Some things that you may want to review with the camera to ensure that you're shooting the images correctly:

First, if you can look at the image using a photo editing program, see if you can review the EXIF (also called metadata) file and look at the exposure. Generally, anything under 1/30th of a second will show motion blur introduced from hand-holding the camera. If the shutter speed is below this, you should consider using a higher ISO setting or opening the apperture (this equates to a lower "F" number, so "F4" allows in LESS light than "F2.8") to allow more light into the lens. Remember that doubling the ISO will allow you to make an exposure with HALF the light. The down side to this is that higher ISO settings, particularly in Point and Shoot cameras, introduce higher levels of noise.

Ensure that you are no more than 10 feet from your subject. Most on-camera flash units are much less effective beyond this distance.

If you are photographing sports/action, remember that a shutter speed of 1/250th of a second will eliminate most motion blur.

Also remember that most point and shoot digital cameras are "one chip" cameras and often have multiple tasks to perform while making an image (focus, exposure, flash, recording and writing the file are all performed at the same time...), so it's not uncommon to see delays (also called "shutter lag") in point and shoot cameras (DSLR's have multiple chips, and don't have this issue...). One way to resolve this is to depress the shutter release half way. This keeps the chip "hot" and ready to expose. Doing this with a point and shoot camera greatly increases the responsiveness to the shutter release.

Hope this helps and happy shooting!

Motions don't stay active when doors and windows are on too.

The system is working as designed. If you arm both doors/windows and motions, but you DON'T exit the premises during the exit delay, the system will "downgrade" its arming to doors/windows only. The assumption is that you haven't actually left the premises and are at risk of creating fale alarms. This behavior can be disabled in System Configuration (though it may require the dealer access code to do it).

Try opening and closing a sensored external door (even if you don't go outside) during the delay after arming doors+motion and see if the motions don't stay active.

Sony vaio motion eye

Windows Vista is not the greatest at working on proprietary machines with drivers intended for XP. Can you get a driver from SONY for the motion eye that supports VISTA? I had Vista on my new machine (Dell) for all of 3 minutes before I uninstalled it and put a brand new copy of XP on. It's stable -- and works. Vista is squirrelly.
