Depending on the model you have and also considering the fact you have already installed the Power supply, this could be an issue with either the processors, logic board or even the power adaptor.

Because I don't know the model of your Apple portable notebook, I can only provide you probable components within an Apple portable notebook, along with the power supply can impact the power settings of your notebook.

Factors to consider:
* Did I properly ground myself out, before removing the old power supply and installing the replacement power supply?

• Have you connected the power supply to the notebook correctly to the logic board with all connected seated?

* Is the RAM in the notebook seated properly in its banks?

* Have you checked the power adapter cord to make sure it is properly seated and is not frayed or cut?

• Is the replacement power supply good?

These are basic questions, but I can tell you from experience as an onsite Mac technician, they can hold weight with such sensitive hardware.

I would recommend you take your Apple portable to your local Apple retail store Genius bar or local Apple-authorized service center and allow a certified Apple technician, at least run a hardware diagnostics on your portable, as they have the tools to also check the new power supply, to make sure it is not bad either.

This is per your discretion of course, but I still recommend you take this course of action, to prevent any further unseen issues from cropping up to spoil the already admirable effort you have made, to fix your Apple portable.

Dell studio XPS 7100 tower. the power light is orange and it wont start

The amber light can mean that the power supply isn't providing enough power to the system board or that the system board (or the CPU on the board) isn't working.

Since your fans are working, your power supply hasn't completely failed and the board is providing power to the system fans. Thus, either the power supply is giving limited power, your CPU has failed or the motherboard isn't talking to the CPU anymore. (The BIOS is only accessible when the CPU is operational.) I'd first try a new power supply. Make sure to get one that has at least the same power rating as the original, matches the wiring in your case and will fit in your case. (Note: you need to be careful. 1) Some Dell systems use a proprietary power supply (shape and wiring). 2) Many current power supplies are rated by their peak power output, not their stable power output. You want to match or exceed the stable power output of the current power supply.)

If the power supply doesn't solve the problem, I suggest getting a new computer is better than a new CPU or motherboard. (The Dell Studio XPS 7100 was released in 2010.) Replacing the CPU or the motherboard makes your computer a new machine to Microsoft and you may have trouble getting a working license. (You'd have to call Microsoft for activation and they probably will want to charge you for a new license.) Take your hard drive out of the current machine to get your data from it. You can put the drive inside another desktop with SATA ports, use an external drive enclosure (3.5") or SATA drive dock, or a USB to SATA drive adapter.

I hope this helps.

Why wont the mouse, keyboard and monitor not work after cpu, pwer supply install...

If the motherboard used to work with the old cpu and power supply, but does not with the new cpu and power supply, then probably the cpu or power supply is bad.
Why did you change the cpu and power supply?
If the power supply went bad, it could have overloaded the mother board as well as the old cpu.
If you think the old cpu went bad, how do you know it was not actually the motherboard that went bad?
All I can suggest is that you double check all the connections.
If you have USB mouse and keyboard, try a DIN connected pair.
If you are using the onboard graphics, try a PCI express card instead.
Tell us if there is any front light activity from the power switch, drive, etc.?

System wont turn on and there is a solid green light at the top of the mother board of my gateway 310 pc replaced batt on motherboard and it still wont turn on.

hello, this be caused by several things , i am assuming your are okay with opening up a PC since you have already changed the onboard battery.

here are few things you can try to further troubleshoot:
1: though the ligh on motherboard is on, power supply can still be faulty, so lets test that with a paper clip trick,
follow this link there are pictures and very clear instructions: http://www.ehow.com/how_4732521_test-desktop-power-supply.html
if power supply is bad, well then you know what to do... change it.
if the power supply is good:
2: remove all the RAM (memory) chips from motherboard and plug the power cable back in and observe the response (you may or maynot hear THREE beeps) now plug in memory chip and try powering up and try with one chip at a time...if PC boots up with any of the chips in it you knkow you have a faulty memory.
if that didn't work:
3: with everthing put back together try disconnecting just the hard drive and power it to see if you see BIOS screen.
if not:
4: many time this worked for me with Gateway PCs, reseating CPU in its slot but only do it you feel confident doing it because you can end up with a GIANT door stop if any of the pins on the CPU are/is damaged.
you would need some thermal-paste to go back on between CPU and heatsink.
if that didn't work..i think you are up to buying new PC.

let me know if you need more help or not clear about anything...
good luck

No display and wont boot

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace.

Wont post and buzzing noise

Don't mean to butt in here but I'll bet the 4 pin_ATX 12v connector is not connected to the board. That 4 pin_ATX 12v connector give's the CPU it's power. Without is the system will not boot. Some boards will give off that weird sound you are hearing.

Cpu fan wont come on after new power supply put in

what made you change the power supply to begin with? Most cpu fans run off the motherboard, but the motherboard initially gets all voltages from the Power supply to begin wth. Did you assume that because cpu fan wasn't running to begin with, that the original power supply was bad. Not a bad assumption but one that needed verification before changing out a power supply. So it seems at this point that you have an unverified bad power supply, a possible bad motherboard, and a known good cpu fan. Plus at ths point you really don't know of the new power supply is good yet until you see something electrical run with it.

NO POWER

if it does not respond at all......i mean no fan no lights no anything.....then double check that your power supply is good.....if it is and you are sure your chasis connectors are placed on the proper pins then you could have a bad motherboard or cpu.......of course more troubleshooting should be attempted before drawing this conclusion (removing one part at a time, etc.) but no power is never a good thing.
