Take a good look in the way you put them ..also insert only good alkaline batteries ..cause this things will not open with cheap ones..it needs something really good like Duracell ...or so...and another thing ...always get the batteries out of the camera when you are not taking pictures...if you take a look in tha manual it says the same ..the discharge themselves even if the camera is not on...it has something to do with internal consumers..
so ..even if the batteries are good alkaline ...and new..if they were left a few days in the camera ...change them ...when you go to the store also may try a few ones to see which kind it is powering it on..cause I also had problems with new ones...and pretty good...
sometimes just do not supports certain kind It may have something to do with the amperage

Hello Jocelynn, You may have a bad battery, a bad battery contact in the camera or a faulty switch. Have a camera tech take a look at it.

Kodak c340 won't turn on

Hello Carol, Are these batteries new and name brand ? It sure sounds like low battery power, Those cheap batteries found in some stores do not have the energy to boot a camera even when new out of the package. The camera has a very high demand to start up. I own several cameras that will not turn on with brand new cheap batteries.
Best Regards, Russell

My Kodak EasyShare C180 10.2MP Digital Camera is less than a year old and suddenly won't turn on. I thought the batteries were dead so I replaced them...twice...and tried changing the direction around...

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

My Kodak EasyShare won't power on.

Are you using the batteries that came with the camera? If you are, some people have had trouble with them, read this review:
http://reviews.bestbuy.com/3545/9480215/reviews.htm
If you're using a new set of batteries, make sure they're fully charged (measure them with a voltmeter or other device). If they look good, make sure the contacts inside the camera are clean (you can clean them with a pencil eraser, or q-tip and at least 90% alcohol). If you're using rechargeable batteries, they just don't last as long as alkalines, and I haven't had much luck at all with them, so I don't recommend them. I've seen other reviews where people had the same experience you're having. Take the camera back, if you can, and exchange it, you're not going to be happy with it. I would recommend getting a camera with a Li-ion rechargeable battery- they don't take as many pics as alkalines, but they come close and they're free (they come with the camera).
