The AIPTEK DV 3300 has a USB connection and supports a memory card. Either connect to your PC using the USB connection ot remove the memory card and insert that into your PC. Then copy the files onto your PC using Windows / MAC.

Some PCs have dedicated card reader slots.

If your PC does not have a card reader slot you will need to get a USB card reader, put the card in the reader and connect the reader to your PC through a USB slot on the PC. The PC will recognise the card and you will be able to download the pictures.

While down loading Video on PC the video

Using FireWirecable & card will be the absolute solution.

-Stable,trouble free data transfer during video capture.
-Video transferred at its maximum resolution 720*576 pixels or something like that compared to 340*240 via USB transfer.
-100% supported by any video editing program, even the simplest Window Movie Maker. In other words, forget Sony's software - use something else that wouldn't run you.

Of course, the cable&card might be not very globally available like USB device. But still easy to find and relatively cheap to buy anyway.

HOW TO CONNECT PC AND GET PICTURES DOWN LOAD IN PC

Hi!

Transfer of DV-avi from the Mini DV over firewire in digital (with audio) to your HDD and editing programs you need a fire wire port on your motherboard or an add in card.

Please check there are 2 types, the small type as on your camera and a larger 6 pin which is on Mother Board (MB). It is fairly standard to use a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cable to hook up a DV camera. If there is no fire wire port in the MB, it is pretty cheap to add a PCI firewire card if your MB does not have one. You can often find USB2/Firewire combo cards for around $30. They hardly ever come with a firewire cable though, so expect to pay around $5-10 more or so for the cable.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

How can i download better quality video from mini dv to pc

Hi there,

You do need a good capture card if you want the best quality. However these tend to be a bit expensive and I have found that if you have a DVD recorder with an i-link input, then copying to the recorder will give you excellent results. After you have made the recording, you can then edit it very easily with say DVD shrink on your PC.

It may even be cheaper to buy a DVD recorder with i-link features than having to buy a capture card!

cheers

Hi
Uninstall the software. Make sure no software fragments are left, then reload the software. Ensure that you install to the manufacturer's instructions. I had this problem and it took several times of uninstall and reinstall, but! eventually it worked, much to my relief.
