Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

The blower at air inlet will run for few minutes, then a short stop, then run again. This happens during the night but in the day. I have GMP100-5. The setting temperature is lower than the room temperature but the blower is still on when it is cold enough. It is a GMP100-5. Is it sensors? I suspect the temperature sensor on the blower is defective but I can reach it with my arm because it is too far. Thanks for the help David

It sounds like the flame sense wire at burner or curcuit board, you didn't say if burner was liting or not, there may be a sail switch in fan housing that may be sticking, dirty etc.

I have craftmam leaf blower that will start and run for a few second before it dies. Once this happen it will not start again until it set over night and it then will start right up and stop again

Hey Ron,
Has this blower been sitting for a long time?? Sounds like the carb is stopped up.. there are many TINY passages that can easily stop up, take it to a qualified pro for a carb cleaning, setting, and a new spark plug.

Air conditioner unit outside is working, but inside the fan keeps turning on and off. How can I fix this?

If its short cycling (on & off a few times per minute) than it may be a circuit board failure. If it runs for a few minutes, then off for a few, then on(ect.....) it may be a weak run capacitor, dirty blower assembly, damager blower motor, dirty evaporator coil, some sort of airflow issue(blocked air opening or cabinet insulation sucked up to the blower), loose wiring to the blower or blower controls, or many other issues. These are some of the things you can check but as far as a fix??? In most cases the blower wheel(assembly) is dirty causing the motor to work too hard and it overheats. It will cool and try again. Or the capacitor is weak. This takes some knowhow. Call a tech! Cleaning a unit involves mostly labor and no parts. Work safe!

Dutless air condition waz service an check unit cooling properly and all of a sudden only at night time, ture the blower water leaking but it's strange it only happens at night during the day it fine.

Moisture in the air is greater at night, but water should be diverted to tray or outside, this probably means your drain pipe or catch ducts are blocked or installed incorrectly. sometimes they warp over time, or unit is not level.

Fuego e3 error

This problem is due to abnormal high temperature in the "hot" coil. It usually happens because of a few things:
1. Dirty filter(indoors)
2. clogged coil(outdoors)
3. bad blower fan or other air restriction

Model # 57915.622 Installed new blower kit ran great for 3 days an then went to turn it on. no air coming out. On the roof I went an the blower was running backwards.I had some one turn it off when I was...

It is possible that a sudden loss of power caused the fan to run backwards. Usually that happens to a compressor, not a blower but I can't think of any other reason. May consider installing a time delay (delay on break), right on the red to the tstat rather than yellow, to ensure everything is included in the delay. Most newer tstats have them built in, possibly upgrade tstat.

Trane gas furnace with White Rodgers 50A50-474 board is flashing a 2 flash code which is a system lockout. The furnace blower contines to run, but the heat stops. I can reset the furnace and the system...

If this is a direct vent unit, check the PVC air intake at the furnace for debris. There is a screen at the furnace connection and as cold air enters into the burner chamber it frosts up on it. If there is any blockage, it restricts the air inlet. If the furnace ignites, it melts the frost and works fine. It happens mostly at night. Let me know if you find this. Thanks.

It is most likely the switch or the blower motor or the speed control resistor assy or solid state speed control, not sure which you have, check the blower first ( when it stops running) then the switch with a 12 volt test light to see if voltage is present. does this happen at all blower speeds??
