Question about Pasquini Livia 90 Espresso Machine

1 Answer

I own a vintage Pasquini Livietta cappuccino maker that has recently stopped working. It still produces steam and I can hear the pump working, but no coffee is produced. The machine was working fine before I let it sit idle on the shelf for many months. When I tried to get it started again it heated up normally but wouldn't express any water through the brewing head. There's also a slight chemical burn smell when I switch on the brew button, or when I open the steam valve. I'm afraid to open up the machine itself because I heard somewhere that the boilers on the older machines were insulated with asbestos.

Remove the shower screen and make sure it is clear, then remove the screws on the top panel, If after checking screen problem still occurs, find the tube that leads to the head and make sure it is not blocked.

Saeco vienna super automatica coffe maker produces very little coffee and it comes out very slow.

sounds like your pump. When you turn steam knob on, you should hear the pump go bump, bump, bump. When hot water is turned on, you should hear pump run steady.

I do not get any water when I push any of three coffee choices. Makes steam and hot water just fine.

First thing I would check is the screen in the group head make sure it is not blocked. Remove and press brew button, if water flows then clean screen. Easiest way is to hold it over an open flame, the coffee will burn before the metal does. If water does not flow then you will have to back wash machine and or descale.

My pasquini livia machine is leaking from the base of the steam wand. Perhaps it is a gasket how do you replace these?

You have to take apart the system for changing the gaskets. If you are not a technical savvy don't try for it.Here is the parts diagram for your machine. Many of my fixya customers took apart the system to change the valve and they suffered a lot to fix it again back. All the best.
1 Boiler end gasket 11 Expanse Valve 21 Group gasket 2 Heating element 12 Drain 22 Refill solenoid 3 Gasket for above 13 Pressurestat 23 Group touch pad 4 Steam + water valve 14 Main switch 24 Drip tray grill 5 Pop off valve 15 Group 25 Water flow meter 6 Bleed valve 16 Group solenoid 26 Drip tray 7 Water level Probe 17 Group handle 27 Basket 8 Auto refill relay effect 18 Filter basket single 28 Steam-water valve knob 9 Heater exchanger injector 19 Plastic gasket 29 Manual refill valve 10 Heat wand 20 Site glass 30 Shower screen

the gasket look like this.I will cost around 12$.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

No steam at frothing station. may be blocked. how can i repair myself??

First check the holes in the nozzle of the steam wand, if they are not blocked then remove steam wand and see if water from the faucet will flow through, if yes then problem is in the machine where the tube connects to the boiler.

Hi My name is Tony Di Cicco I purchased a Livietta T2 Espresso Machine on May 20th/09 and as I was cleaning the Filter Screen I discovered thhat the Adaptor Disc is all cracked, need I to order this...

Hi, Is the machine still under warranty? If so you may consider bringing it back. Otherwise they sell paets on the Pasquini site -- not sure the one you are looking for is there but you can also contact them. Hope that helps.

No coffee comes out - button on: It beeps

This is confusing to me. This is called priming the pump and not releasing air.

The noise you were experiencing could be from the grind of your coffee is too fine not allowing proper water flow. Remove the portafilter/handle, push brew button - and if the water comes down like rain, there is nothing wrong with the machine - it has to do with the grind, and your grinder may need a adjustment.

If you have a problem with a Pasquini machine, I'd recommend only relying on authorized Pasquini service centers.

My experience is working over 10 years at Pasquini as a master technician running the home repair sales and service center.

I stock all Pasquini parts for any service of your Pasquini espresso machines and grinders. Contact us for any of your Pasquini sales and service needs.
