Question about Samsung SCX-4500 Laser Printer

1 Answer

My SCX-4500 is making a terrible grinding noise when printing now. After opening up the printer, I see that the paper is bunching in front of the toner cartridge, unable to get out of the exit hole after printing. This paper bunching in front of the toner cartridge is causing the very loud and awful grinding noise. Please help.

Hi

Thanksfor using FixYa. Please check the slide switch on the left front side of thescanning portion. Remove the scanning cover and check if the switch is inlocked position. Also check that nothing is stuck, pushed out of place orpopped out of its place like switches, sensors or paper sensor switches and islying on the wrong position. While pulling the jammed paper the stripped gearor vacuum pump might have gone bad or ink wiper got glued up and is extended. Dripsome ammoniated window cleaner on the wipe and just below it to soften built upink and the spring of the cleaning station might have got estranged andcolliding with the head. The bushings of head carriage, bending or dirty encoderstripe may also cause this issue.

If stillthe issue persists, then you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the printerdrivers afresh from the link---

SamsungPrinter Drivers

Please doaccept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for furtherassistance.

Thanks

Rylee

HP 1315v Printer Makes grinding noise and won't feed paper anymore

It sounds as though a sheet of paper or an envelope bunched up and has jammed inside. Until that is removed from the feed roller, you will continue to hear the 'grinding' sound, and won't be able to print anything. Remove the cover from the backside of the machine, then locate and remove the obstruction. If you don't have any such obstruction then you have a mechanical defect which is not user repairable.

Printing noises - no ink transferring

Sounds like you may need to replace the developer drive assembly. This is the motor and gear assy that drive the color developers. it is located on the right side middle, 3 screws hold it in place. be careful when replacing to not over tightened screws.

GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM

If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.

Paper transport does not work; terrible grinding noise

I took mine apart from the back and put it back together and it worked. It is probably due to moving it and the bottom paper tray alignment gets out of whack. I inspected all of the gear train and didn't find any worn or missing teeth. I suspect a paper jam started it and the user turned the printer around to open the back door. Since the handles are on the printer the tray doesn't move with it which allows it to separate and possibly jam a pickup drive gear.

Gears grinding with Brother Intellifax 4100

Does it only make the noise when printing. Do you hear the noise when sending out faxes? I have heard grinding noises onlt when using poor quality toner refills, or the fuser gear and or drive gear asm is stripped. First try a known good OEM toner.
