It still sounds as though you aren't getting it to boot proper... You have to make sure the CD/DVD is set to be the ONLY boot device, it MUST be the first one... when it starts, immediately tap the enter key and make it boot from DVD/CD... If it still won't then either your disc is suspect or your CD/DVD is faulty.

Im trying resore my acer back to factory settings

Did you press 5 times

If you do NOT have a copy of this disc, skip to step 3 for further instructions. Once you restart your computer, a screen will appear with the words. Press Any Key to Boot From CD. Once you press a key, a screen will come up containing instructions to format your hard drive and restore the original factory settings. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the installation. Once the restore is complete, remove your Recovery CD from the disk drive so that your computer does not try to boot from the CD again. Restart your computer to complete the restore. 3. If you do not have a System Restore disk, then your computer should have a recovery partition on your hard drive, separate from the main partition of the disk. Unplug all external devices and restart your computer. When the loading screen comes on with the Windows logo, press Alt+F10 together five times. This will bring up the system restore menu. Follow the on-screen prompts to restore your computer back to the factory settings Hope this helps.

What do i do to restore my g netbook meso back to factory condition

watch for restore or recover prompts when you first power on, they are typicaly F1 key / F2 Key F10-12 Key. in recent history laptops have you create a "Restore " cd set when you buy them, they are no longer included at purchase. do you recall making a restore cd? However, some still provide them. in which case pop the cd in, at first boot up. watch for the F key to boot options... choose cd.
Hope that helps Cheers

HOW DO I SET MY LAPTOP BACK TO FACTORY

For (Operating Systems=windows98,xp,vista)
unless you have a custom program to do this you can only restore back using (system restore) however that will not restore it to factory settings.. the best way is simply re-installing the Operating system after Formatting your entire Harddisk space (all partitions)
If you don't know how to do it.. then simple follow the instructions after booting the windows CD
PS: to boot windowsxp cd you have to set BIOS settings (F2 or F10 or Del Button at start of computer) to boot CD before HDD..

There is no simple restore factory settings in Laptops

Put recovery disk in the CD drive. On reboot, hold down F12 key. You should get a choice of drives to boot from. Make sure the first two are in the correct order:

1. CD-ROM (optical drive)
2. HDD (hard drive)

then press F10 to save and exit.

Now the laptop should boot correctly from the recovery disk.
