Question about Tascam Dp-02cf Digital 8-track Recorder

1 Answer

The 8GB Compact Flash card I bought with this unit will not work. The screen won't change from the opening screen and none of the functions work, like the card function I need to format the thing.

I would try a 2GB or smaller card - that seems to be where cut-off for a lot of equipment - and older Windows hardware is 2GB

wma files won't be read, only mp3 files, in my experience. My 512 mb SD card works, but it won't read my 8 gb SDHC card. I suspect it can't manage SDHC (high capacity) cards. I haven't tested yet, because as it turns out, neither can my computer... I think I'll fall back to a flash drive.

Can't play back videos on my experna; memory card Sandisk class 4 8Gb. Have a canon Vixia HFR10 camcorder

Okay, ours is a different brand (JVC) but they may have some basic similarities in function. To playback video clips stored on the memory card, put the memory card in the card reader slot of the computer and put the files onto the computer. Playback the clips from your computer video or photo file. (Ours won't playback video stored on the memory card through the camera.)

To playback video clips stored on the camera hard drive through the camera, we open the viewer screen, look at the function keys on the camera body, select the "Play" button. On the screen it displays thumbnails of the various video clips. We use the toggle/function key to select from the menu containing options for playback, edit, delete, protect, etc.

According your camera specs listed on dpreview.com:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Nikon/nikon_cp4300.asp

your camera must support the FAT 32 file format in order to use a compact flash card that exceeds 2.2 Gb. I question whether a camera 7 years old supports an 8Mb card, but I haven't found any specific upper limit listed online anywhere.

I bought a Lexar 8GB Compact Flash Card for the E-100RS

Check your manual to see if your camera is able to handle a card that large. Also, go to the manufacturer's website to check for firmware downloads.

Hi,

your camera needs a compact flash card. However If I were you I would be conservative concerning the size of the card. Probably your camera can't deal with an 8GB card.

Search ebay for "compact flash 128" or "compact flash 64" you still find plenty of those. And they cost nothing.

New compact flash card reads "blank card" then when I push record reads "full card"

I had this problem too recently. The unit needs a firmware update. The only hitch there, is that you need to send it in to the D&M Pro (Marantz Professional Equipment) Service Center to get the update. No cost to my knowledge, other than shipping.

Call 630.741.033 or e-mail techsupport@d-mpro.com and they should be able to take care of you.
