I would like to renovate my old Purex D.E. Filter by replacing the worn-out filter cloth. The container is still good so as the header and filter leaves, but some of the cloths are worn-out. Polyester and/or polypropylene cloth are not available in our stores. What is the next common material that I can use in its stead?

it is a common thing in and around Toronto, of renovating old homes nowadays,
make sure not to lose the old and classy look of
their place. Yes, but it is not that common to find a good team of renovators
who makes sure of all the works during the renovation. My aunt did her house
renovated couple of months back and it looked fabulous after the renovations.
She mentioned that their services too are good. Check out the link: http://www.avonlearenovations.com,

I suspect you need to have the fluid and filter replaced in it. When you go awhile without service, the fluid gets loaded with tiny metal shavings and worn fibers from the clutch bands and discs. As the old fluid heats up, it becomes less viscous (thick) and allows the filter to **** up all that trash. Unfortunately, you may have the type of ******* that has the filter on the inside, where only a service tech can replace it. Best bet is take it to a Jiffy Lube or something, and ask how much for a trans service WITH filter replacement, and tell them you want to see the old part. Good luck and keep me posted.
this is normal when the clutch facing in the clutch packs are worn. It means the transmission need to be rebuilt. If you did save your old fluid I suggest you filter it out , drain the new fluid you just added and reinstall your old fluid. The reason you will see metallic fibers in your old fluid. These fibers are from the clutch facing that were worn away. They will fill the void were the wear is at to it will shift again. Note when filtering take a good look for metal shavings. If seen it will be no use to perform the above. It means the wear is way to much in the trans and needs to be rebuilt instead
Locate the cabin air filter container on your Lincoln LS. Looking at the engine from the front, you will find the casing on the left side against the back firewall. The cabin air filter is mounted vertically and is approximately 6 by 9 inches and about 2 inches deep.
Remove the cowling cover by pushing in the black cover pins and lightly prying the cover off with a screwdriver. Lift the filter out of the container.
Vacuum the inside of the container to remove any dust or debris. Wipe down the inside and outside of the container and lid with a clean damp cloth, then dry it off completely.
Insert the new cabin air filter into the container and check to make sure it is seated properly. Cover the container by putting the lid back on and gently pushing down to make sure the pins click into place.
Remove the fuel line from the engine and drain the old fuel into a container. Follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine. Anywhere along that line where you can disconnect it do so. The fuel filter is a good place to disconnect it and then you can replace the fuel filter when you connect it back up.
first you will check your owners manual for the required specification of what weight ( 10w30) oil to use and then the fill capacity.( 5.quarts ) also the auto parts store will tell you those as well. I always buy one extra quart. Once you have oil and filter, warm car up for 3-5 minutes, (this will help oil drain faster and easier) once car is warm shut of motor, block rear wheels jack the front of car up enough to slide under it. BLOCK car or support with jack stands.put a drain pan under car, remove the oil drain plug on the bottom or side of the oil pan.( make sure your catch pan will hold at least 6-7 quarts of fluid. once oil has stopped draining replace drain plug, now remove the oil filter, unscrew counterclockwise, lube new oil filter seal with oil, screw on to oil housing clockwise rotation, hand tighten. fill motor with oil to recommended fill capacity.start car , check for leaks around filter, if no leaks shut car off and lower car to ground, check oil on dipstick and wipe off, insert and check again, fill to fill line on dipstik and your done.
You definitely have an air flow issue. Let's do some tests to see if we can pinpoint the cause. Step 1: Remove any clothes and the lint filter.Inspect blower housing inlet below the filter to see if there are any restrictions or obstructions. If OK, proceed to >Step 2: Replace lint filter only and remove the vent to the outside from the rear of the dryer. Put an old nylon stocking over the vent coming out of the dryer, and do a load of clothes. If dryer works fine, your vent to the outside is at fault and needs to be corrected. If not certain, proceed to>Step3: Remove the nylon stocking. With the dryer set on air fluff, do an air flow test comparison with and without the filter in place. I use a Kleenex and gently stretch it across/over the dryer vent tube, Have someone turn the dryer on and see if it is strong enough to rip the Kleenex. If no filter in and Kleenex rips and with filter in doesn't, then your filter is at fault This may not be definitive enough to evaluate for certain, and only needs to be done after the nylon test fails.
