Lamp doesn't turn on

BenQ warrants their lamps at 500 hours...I had one go at 420 hours for my projectors, had to contact the company for a return number and pay to ship the entire unit back to them, then they sent me my unit back with a new bulb installed. Process took about a month.

Hello, I am having a problem with my hd72/hd6800. My projector is on its original bulb and has about 500 hours over 5 years. Today i was able to turn it on, but the lamp wont light up. I hear the fan start...

Despite the relatively few hours on the lamp, the fact is it's over 5 years old. It is not uncommon for a lamp to age and be too weak to fire. Replace the lamp, you should be fine.

How do I know if the bulb is burnt out or if there is another problem

The projector will have warned you in advance that the lamp was about to expire. So if the lamp has done say 2000 hours then it is likely it is that. If the lamp has only done say 500 hours it is likely that it requires a ballast unit .
Hope this helps.

Hello there. It seems that the Sigma EF-500

John, there is a difference in sync times between film and digital flash. It's taken the third party manufactures a little time to catch up so there is a lot of "film" flash units out there. I'm understanding that the Sigma flash doesn't fire at all which is pretty amazing I would have thought it would fire just not at the correct time. This flash isn't a total loss because it can be used wireless with a slave unit for fill or even a main light triggered from a mini transmitter on the camera hot shoe. Here is a link to an e-Bay auction to see what I'm saying.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Wireless-Flash-Trigger-Transmitter-Receiver-4-Canon-/230537528202?pt=Camera_Flash_Accessories&hash=item35ad1b838a

I use this type of system for a location shoot, there are no wires and I can set up and balance my lighting to each set with no more dark backgrounds hope this was a help

RCA Scenium turn on tv with remote, on light flickers on and off

You'll probably need to replace the lamp, the approximate life of a lamp is between 4000 and 6000 hours depending on owners use. You'll find the lamp located behind the access dorr in the right side of the back cabinet, two hex screws hold the access door in place and two more hex screws hold the lamp cage. Once the screws are removed pull the cage assembly out and check the lamp side, you'll probably see the damage in the center of the lamp. If the lamp is the problem, you can find a goos selection at UED union electronic distributors, you can contact johnl@ued.net and provide him with your model number.

Unit goes off after about 30 minutes, possible overheating ?

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is BP9600826A.Have a blessed one!

The Power/Standby flashes green but doesn't to to a solid green and the picture won't pop up; then the Lamp flashes red?

Replace you Lamp. If its been two years since you purchased the unit, then its time for a new lamp. The lamps are only good for about two some times more years.

I turn tv on...green light comes on but i get no picture or audio....then light indicator blinks red

Hello!
Lamp or ballast(if lamp has been replaced) is bad.
Explanation: green comes on: system works, waiting for light to shine into light engine: no light is coming out of lamp, system shuts down, then you see red! how to determine: pull the lamp out of the unit's compartment. Inspect lamp: bloated stem? shuttered? reflector is not shiny? Chuck it!
Lamp looks good or just been replaced: try ballast. Close lamp compartment without lamp itself. Make sure, door is shut, as well. Turn unit on and listen close to lamp compartment: good ballast will make a buzzing noise, then stop. You've got "red'! No buzzing: ballast quit. Needs major repair! Lamp must be good, for sure, to get to the last part of diagnostics. Conclusion: more, than 2000 hours of usage: replace lamp first!
Good luck,
Alex.
