Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
1 a ) possibly
there might also be bulge capacitors ( CP150 and CP120 / CP114 )
b ) a shorted horizontal output transistor TL010
here is a sample picture of the transistor
it is available at
check on the lower portion of the page, there are also more repair kits just in case.
c ) partially shorted flyback
All of these are just possibilities, but actual voltage measurement
and good visual look inside the unit might verify what really is causing
the unit to fail to turn on.
my suggestion would be have a friend help you check for power
supply output voltages.
d ) check for U sys B+ ( positive of DP 110 )
B+ is the one supplying the horiz def circuits
having none means a short in the system
having a voltage of say at least 45V means a partially shorted flyback
having a 110V means there is no oscillation, assuming horiz out
e ) try awhen i turn the power - 035a17d.jpgg these out
f ) there might also be other possible causes like tact switches
in front of the TV ( if the above possible causes are OK )
2) Try also to unplugged first the unit for at least 20 minutes, and plug
it back later to a known good working outlet.

I Suspect Power Supply Board.Open the TV and look for Power Supply Board. Once you find the Board, Pull out the Connectors. Take the Board out. With the help of magnifying glass, you need to check Cold Solder Joints. If not, then Check the Caps and Fuses. I imagine, if this could be due to Power Shut Off, you would be able to Find Some Bulged / Swelled / Leaked Caps. You would smell Ammonia kind of odor. You need to pull them out. Order the same Caps online or go to Radio Shack. It would cost you few bucks, in fact less than 20 bucks. Once you get the Caps, solder them and it is all set.
Note - You need to take all the Precautions as this would involve Voltage.
Let me know, if problem persists so that we could further troubleshoot.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
