Question about Maxtor Shared Storage Plus (H24P200) (3C221) 200 GB
I have a Maxtor Shared Storage 200GB ethernet drive and it seems to be 'stuck.' The yellow/orange light is on - will not switch over to green and my iMac no longer recognizes it. All my data is on there (I've been using this drive for years), is there a way to troubleshoot? This all started today when I went to access some files and the drive was present, but when I clicked on folders to access my files it was like there was nothing on the drive. So, I did what I usually do and ejected it, turned it off, unplugged it let it sit for a few minutes then restarted my computer (just in case) and turned it on. However, now it will not turn completely on (that is the yellow light will not change to green no matter what) and the computer no longer recognizes the drive in my network. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

ensure that your notebook has all the updated drivers, if remote device is working and your notebook is not able to detect it. then there might be following issue. * your cable is faulty * necessary driver has not been installed on your notebook work around: check above options and try thanks arun

have you tried to scan disk the drive and to fix problems with folder signature and have you had the virus scanner on this drive if not get it done you may have a virus on drive once you have scanned drive the only solution is to move all files off that you can and after you have scanned drive if it lets you in to that folder then move all that you can off to another drive then write down all files you can't move off that drive then format drive then move files back then find files that you had to destroy again and place these back on. I Have to do this all the time

Can you log into the Storage Router? The question is, where can you see the printer? If you can see it on the Router but not on the notebook, the problem is with the Router... if the Router sees it fine, you may have a presentation problem. Let us know.

I had the same issue. My PC would not recognize the external Maxtor 3200 hard drive, but the light was on, although feintly. Here is what I did. I went out and bought another Western Digital 500 GB USB hard drive, knowing that it probably had the same power supply. Got home and plugged the power supply into the Maxtor 3200 and immediately my Windows XP immediately recognized it and the drive was perfect. I checked with Radio Shack before coming home and they have the power supply needed there, with multiple choices on the size of the power input. The problem was the power supply cord. Now I have the Maxtor with all my media files on it and another that I will transfer files to as a backup
