Try cleaning out the cdrom. Strong can of air can help.
Depending on its age it may be on it's way out. Most if not all cdrom / dvdroms are warranted for 1 year. Also try a different media disk (change name brands).

Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone. or
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard or

you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall your DVD/CD then reinstall the driver for this device
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down cd dvdrom drives if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark?! or a red x right click you will need to update the driver or
select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver
hope this helps

Boot up does not load to login prompt. It loops after not detecting D1.D2.D3 and goes right back to the Start Windows Mormal prompt

you will have to change the boot sequence in the BIOS.
preee F2 or Del to enter the BIOS - you can change the sequence, set the first Boot 1 = DVD/CD, boot 2 = Hard drive

press F10 exit and save > ok

next time it will iuse the DVD/CD to boot first.

if you set the boot to b1 = Hard drive & boo 2 = DVD/CD......the hard drive boots

hope this help

Compac battery problems.

Hi, I don't know of a driver you may buy for this. One thing you could buy is an external fan to help keep the laptop cool. This is a fan which is plug into the laptops usb port and the computer is place on top surface of the fan which is design to hold the computer.
Just a recommendation.

I copya song into cd(wrongly).after my brother copied correctly

if it is a cd-r (CD-R) there is nothing you can do, they can only be written to once and cannot be modified after the fact, if it is a cd-rw (CD-RW) just use a cd burning software to blank it and start from scratch, if it is cd-r just get a new cd.

I cant reformat my Toshiba libretto L3. I tried everything

You cant boot from cd. Try changing the boot order in the BIOS and allow the CD to have ownership over the Harddisk Drive. This way the computer is forced to boot from the CD.

Hi,

Based on your post/description, you may want to try:
1.Restore to last good settings.This is done by pressing F8 before Windows Starts. You will be presented with a menu of several option. Press arrow down till you highlight Last Known Good Configuration that worked, select that and Enter. Hopefully, your desktop PC will revert to the settings that worked prior to when your problem started;
2. Should # 1 don't work out and you would really want to "...wipe everything out...:, pls back up all your important files. likewise, you need to log down all your devices from your Device Manager or save/copy/back-up your installer/driver files. Thereafter, you need to borrow an installer CD of your Operating System. Pop the Cd installer and boot from the CD drive. When the installer asks you, delete the partition and allow it to format to your NTFS, reinstall and follow on screen instructions.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
