Question about Elements Of Design Plumbing

Open Question

I have Hot Springs Vanguard (Model 5) and I have no heat. The water is still circulating. Both the power induucator and the ready light are blinking. I went to the breaker box and shut the power off for 5 minutes and still have the same problem.I have installed new filter and still have the same problem. In the trouble shooting section of the owners manual it is saying that it could have a heater high limit thermostat tripped or a temperature sensor problem. I also have seen some information saying that I could have a bad heater. Any information you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mike

SOURCE: Bunn coffee maker trips the breaker

It is possible that you have a short in your limit thermostat, but most likely this is caused by small holes in your main heating element. these units start to split length ways down the element, causing a short to ground through the water. These elements are readily available at your local Bunn repair shop.

SOURCE: Unit comes on and runs for 5 minutes, the circuit trips off

30 is the correct size breaker for this unit. It sounds like there is a grounding issue going on in the system. Or off of the Thermostat. Something is grounding out causing the switch to trip. Are you running #10 wire to breaker and the unit? If not you will need to increase your wire size

SOURCE: Water Heater Keeps Going Off

Modlara, it's partially true. There is a flow control valve in the heater. In case the intake is too cold or water usage is too high this valve reduces flow volume to maintain output temperature. But not shut off the flow entirely. Too bad, 063 does not come with a remote control, otherwise it could tell you what went wrong. My guess is either the air intake or vent are some how blocked. The heater is having problem generate enough heat to keep up the temp. so the flow control valve kicks in.

I'll need to know what make--model--- age of this unit is and if it's electronically controlled to help you----your question is too vague do to the enormous variety types of heating systems----I'm going under the info provided that this is a boiler with domestic hot water coil----you say central heating so this throws me off---do you heat with hot water--hydronic-----or forced hot air----if hydronic---it sounds like your circulator in not functioning----a bunch of reasons circulator has failed---aquastat's "circulator control" has failed---thermostat has failed----broken wires----plugged lines----it goes on and on----this is the best I can do with this info sorry Happy Rabbit

Hot tub heating is working but pump has stopped

you may have a system that uses a small circulating pump that circulates the water thru the heater to keep water temp at proper level (this is usually the case with hot springs spas and is because it is the most cost effective way to maintain constant water heat without using a full size pump or two speed pump just to push water past the heater core. therefore the issue is you have a problem with your jet pump and it has nothing to do with the circulating and heating portion of the spa. you can check to see if there are any reset buttons in or near the equipment as well as open enclosures to make sure everything is clean and dry also make use any contacts on spa skirting are secured propertly

Old Vanguard Water heater not heating.

the top element is energized until the water in the top of the tank is hot enough to satisfy the upper thermostat, then the thermostat switches and sends power to the lower element. This is done to quicken the recovery time.

Amtrol 41 hot water maker :not working when calling for hot water, contols are on showing temp, but tank is cold.oil fired boiler is fine, the whole system is 5 yrs old.

The problem is probably with the circulator pump or the zone valve, which ever way your water circulating from the boiler is controled.
The water needs to be moved through the boiler and the coils in the Hot water maker to heat water. If this is not happening then no water will be heated.
Check for power and then is the pump is running or the zone valve opening.
I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

No hot water. hitting reset button starts it up but keeps tripping breaker

-Did you buy it directly from Grainger? The model # is actually 82SV30-2T. The "model #" you provided is Grainger's product code.

-Is this a new installation or is this an older water heater?

-Is this wired to a 25 amp breaker. (It should be.)

-Did you re-use existing wire? If so, is it at least #10 copper? (It has to be #10 or larger to comply with code) It isn't copper-clad aluminum or cotton over rubber insulated, right? (It should not be)

-Have you re-wired the heating elements? If so, you need to restore the wiring to the way it was configured from the factory.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Car over heating and over flow in resouvier

Whats really gunna **** you off is the part you probably need is about 5$. Inside the radiator hose is a spring loaded "switch" that supposed to expand when it becomes hot and let radiator fluid thru. Sometimes these springs freeze up and don't let the fluid thru. IE probably your problem.
