Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P100 Digital Camera
My DSC-P100 is in working order except for the flash. I haven't changed any of the settings. The flash icon still shows on the screen - I have tried using the flash with all flash options like auto, sensor etc. The rest of the camera works.
Can I replace the flash?
If you need a replacement part for your camera, check ebay or other sites for camera for parts or repair. I did the same thing when i needed a new lcd screen for my dsc-p100. The cost of a new screen was $100 and for sony to fix it was $120 plus shipping both ways. I got a camera on ebay for $12 and replace the screen myself. Fixed for $12!!!!! Now that's much cheaper than buying a new camera! I also have a few for parts so if you need some parts, let me know! I am sure I can shoot you an affordable option!

With the flash activated put the camera to you ear. assuming you have normal hearing when the flash capacitor is charging you should hear it.
If you cannot then assume the flash unit has failed.
Replacing it is possibly a no no
The economic cost make a new camera a better bet
Check out Sony to be sure
