Re: wont pump out water
First of all does it wash? if it does the motor does not need replacing. the drain pump is located on the front of the motor and has a clip at the top and one at the bottom. it has 2 hoses attatched to it. remove the pump and check if anything is caught inside it. if not the pump will need replacing. let me know how you go

Is this a top or front loader? If it is a top loader do you hear the motor run? If you do the first thing to check is the rubber driver between the motor and the transmission. One way to chek if the motor runs is to fill it with water and put it into spin. If it pumps the water out that means the motor runs. If the rubber driver is broke (happens often) it will neither wash nor spin.
If it is a top loader then the most common problem is a leaking pump, which is easy to change.
The link below is not for leaks but shows you the details on taking it apart. Kenmore machines are a product of Whirlpool.

You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and
things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this
works great on all front loaders. Use very hot water with the Affresh
with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any
stagnant water smells. Put the Affresh
pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.
