Benq FP91G 19'' fades out

I have a Benq FP91G 19'' LCD
When i turn it on, it comes on very light, then fades out very quickly.

If someone can tell me what is wrong then i know if its worth getting it fixed
or maybe get a part to fix it.

Thanks
Peter

As you can see from the image on my last reply the capacitors look fine
no bulging, none of the tops look like anything is wrong.
Will replacing all of them definitely fix the problem do you think?

the capacitors that are domed or have colored leakage will need to be replaced.
please look here for images of damaged caps

OK if there are no puffy caps then the problem is related to the transistors called MosFets. this is something that a service center will need to do the easiest thing at this point is to replace the power pack. I am sorry if this is not the answer you wanted to hear , however I am not going to lie to you .
the MosFets supply power to the lamps, what is happening is that the MosFets are undervolting or Overvolting and the monitor is saving itself from a Fire situation. It is a soldering situation and it can be complicated so I have to advise to take in for service center or buy a power pack for it (e bay is cheap) or get a new monitor.

A quick search on Google for "fp851 adapter" turned up several sources. Here's one listing from eBay, which is always a good place to check. If you're not in the US, you can check eBay listings in your area or find an online source that will ship to you. You shouldn't have much trouble locating a replacement.

My Benq FP93GX 19" LCD Monitor does not turn on,

It does the same attaching to another PC?
Otherwise it is more likely to have bad caps, that will be the first thing to check.

Hi My Benq FP91G flickers with the auto syncing message around once every 60s. sometimes the power button does not work, i have to keep pressing it before it will eventually switch on. Is this worth...

Its worth fixing...
Its just an issue with the board.
If it happens to be the LCD panel, rather not fix it since its gonna cost u a fortune.

Can't get monitor to turn on

Dell has the same problem as BenQ since BenQ makes the monitor for Dell and HP. Please look through the Dell albums so you will know what to look for inside, bad transistors, caps, solder joints.

Blank LCD screen

Hi,

The description "comes on very faint" is indicative that the backlight is not turning on. The backlight as the name implies provide the illumination of the rear panel of the LCD display. It is made on 1 or more CCF Lamps (cold cathode florescent lamps) and are powered by an inverter that provides the high frequency high voltage needed for the CCF lamps to work. Since the entire screen is dark and it is highly unlikely that both or all the lamps would go out at the same time, it would highly be likely that the inverter is the culprit being the common denominator to all the lamps.

Should you venture to perform a DIY (do-it-yourself) (with the necessary precautions and safety in mind), look for a board that would have small transformers and have connectors that leads to the CCFLs. They often go bad because of dried up/blistered capacitors, cold solder or a general failure in the electronics.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
