My LG dryer has stopped heating. Still runs, no heat. This happened once before while under warranty, the technician told my husband it was a fuse of some type. An overload fuse. Where would this be?

SOURCE: LG Front loader Electric Dryer want heat but will run and spin

If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

SOURCE: front load gas dryer lg model dlg 5988w does not heat

This can obviously be several things, but I would first check the small safety thermostat. On the gas models, there is a small pin sticking out of it which can be pushed back in to reset it. It is located on the heater housing and is only about the size of a dime, with two wires on it. This will trip out easily if your vent was not clean, or is long or restricted in some ways (like using flex ducting)
If you need more help getting to it, let me know and I'll give you more instructions.

Maytag gas dryer flame comes on but will not stay on

Your ignition unit may be worn out and will need to be replaced. Generally, a heating element comes on and once it reaches a certain temperature, it ignites the gas pilot. Then the heating element cools off because the gas is now burning and producing heat. When this heating element stops working correctly, it will not reach the right temperature to ignite the gas. You'll need to have a professional perform the repair. If the dryer is still under warranty, this might be covered.
We had ours replaced several years ago by a reasonably priced repairman. It bought us another 8 hears on our dryer!

I have an LG front load dryer and it has stopped heating. Do you have any suggestions?

Because you have a gas dryer, your problem is probably caused by the ingition panel.Generally, with a gas dryer, there is an ignition device that heats to a specific temperature and this causes the gas to ignite. When this electric ignition fails to work, the gas will not ignite and there will be no heat. I had this happen and had to call a professional. It was a simple matter of installing a new ignition device and it worked perfectly for years. I hope this helps! If it is a new dryer, check to see if this part might be covered under warranty. If this helps solve your problem, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice.
