How can i move photos from my GE A1250 camera to my laptop? I lost the disc, my computer does not have a slot to insert the media card...can i download software from somewhere?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

If you insist on using the USB connection, Picasa should still see your camera when you connect it.

My silver GE A1250 dose absolute nothing. I have new batteries in it. Lens will not open. What could be wrong.

Even "new" batteries can be empty. When they were stored to warm for some time. Be sure you use 2 AA-size alkaline batteries from the same quality. (new) Only Ni-MH rechargeable batteries can be used. Ni-CD won't have the right voltage.

How many pictures does the A1250 camera hold

It depends upon the size of the memory and the picture quality.
The camera's display normally displays the number of photos taken and or remaining number of photos that can be taken.

Computers can't read the files on my camera. what is the problem of that?

Codecs missing, or drivers for camera not present on the computer. How do you try to read your files? Are you using a separate card reader or connecting the camera using a USB cable?

I have a ge a1250 and i accidently lost the cd and i have a mac and cant view pictures or anything what do i need to do

You don't need any drivers. You just have to get the USB cable, connect it to your camera and then connect it to your mac finally. No special drivers are required since most of the cameras now are you using the 2.0 mass storage and this is standard. You can also remove the memory card and directly plug it into the SD port of your Mac.

Good luck!

I need to replace the usb cable to access the hard drive and I can't find a replacement cable. can you help?

I am not sure what cable you are looking for, it sounds like a cable that goes from a USB external hard drive to the USB port of the computer. I have seen these cable both ways A-B and also A-A, if you don't know what type of cable it is, I would first refer to the manufacture's web page. If they don't have information on it I include a picture of the type of USB ends and a place to purchase a cable once you identify it.This is a USB A connector dfish26_2.jpg and this a be connector dfish26_3.jpg here is a website to purchase a cable.

I hope this helps.

I'm running Windows XP, trying to connect camera to PC but PC doesn't recognize camera. How can I fix this?... GE A1250 camera

Take the memory card out and use a USB card reader to access your photos/videos. It's simpler and faster than connecting the camera itself.
