AIWA NSX-AVF77 bookshelf has no power anymore what can be worng with it?

Check to see if it has a fuse. Check your power card and make sure it is good. If it dose not have a fuse to replace & the power cord is good then your ac/dc board is bad and will not convert AC to DC to power the unit.

This sounds like an internal amplifier problem. Did you smell anything burn? Try turning it off completely and plugging it to a different outlet.

If all else fails, have it checked by an electronics technician...

you might want to google the service manual for the system as i did. this will show you how to take it apart. after doing so check the solder points along the dc power jack( power adapter plug on the unit). i was having the same issue and carefully inspected all the components... i resoldered the dc power jack and viola! powers up. btw, my system is bose acoustimass 5 music center model 5 (1995). good luck!

hello,
do check if the mains power is at steady voltage by the use of a voltmeter.
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Its usually not a fault that you will see unless somethings burnt up. This is solid state electronics and you dont see this stuff go bad. But in the meantime try disconnecting the speakers and see if it still goes into shutdown and at the same time have a dc multimeter attached to the speaker outputs. If the unit comes on and you dont see any DC at all or very very little B+ on both speaker terminal sets then you may have a defective speaker. If you do see dc then thats why the protections comming on so you dont blow out your speakers. If you dont have any equipment or dont have any electronics experience I would then take the unit to a repair person for an estimate. Good Luck

My Sony Home Theater system DAV HDX975WF keeps flashing "Push Power Protection". There is no audio and in calling Sony their support dept can't help me. They say it could be frayed or broken wires to the...

MHC-DP900D HAD SAME PROBLEM- PROTECT, PUSH POWER. TRACED CAUSE TO AMP. DC PROTECTION CIRCUIT ON AMPLIFIER BOARD. ACTUAL FAULT WAS A SHORT CIRCUIT OF THE AMP. IC LEFT CHANNEL OUPUTS (STK412-030 PINS 10 & 11)
EXCESSIVE SOLDER APPLIED DURING MANUFACTURE HAD PROBABLY BEEN HEATED UP ENOUGH DURING USAGE TO BRIDGE THE PINS. CURRENTLY USING THE UNIT WITH RIGHT CHANNEL ONLY UNTIL I PURCHASE A NEW IC. BYPASSED DC PROTECTION FOR LEFT CHANNEL BY ISOLATING INPUT TO DC DETECT TRANSISTOR.
This is what I could find, it looks like it will need serviceing unless you can do it yourself, it can be deadly if you don't know exactly what you are doing.
Thanks for the fixya rating, hope this helps

I once had a what you might call beating sound, and that was when I'd plugged in the DC power chord at the back the wrong way round! On my unit, the side of the connector where it says "DC Power" must be up. If you look closely you'll also see that two of the pins (or rather the plastic around them) have a different shape; same for two corners of the receptacle in the unit. These must match.

F61 problem

DIsconnect sound Amplifier ic (RSN).After removal of the ic if the unit works o.k offcourse without sound than replace ic.If still f61 than sound ic is o.k and check voltege regulators in power supply. You can check dc detect line if it gets activated.
F61 is mainly two resons 1st sound ic or power supply problem in power bord which send signal to system control to shut down the power in order not to damege more.

Sharper Image Cd shelf system model # SO227

The one I troubleshot had a bad 4700 uF 25v capacitor next to the dc connector on the main pc board. this dc connector cable runs from the rear cover of unit(the rectifier board). When I power up the unit, dead,no standby lite no power.I removed all connections to cd board and just left the mmain board and display board connected.clock and standby came on,but after about two minutes the 4700uf 25v power cap started to smoke (and dmm read 12v and falling across cap).hurray that was my big clue! Replaced cap with a gang of 5 1000uf 35v nichicon electrolytes in a parallel L package formation to fit the realestate of old cap and allow cover closure.happy tunes.Unfortunatly made by cheapos who spec counterfiet electrolyte formulated caps.Watch out for "S.I." brand electrolytics.Check temp of rest of caps while running unit as this beast is chock full of them.

AC adaptor cord

Try a Radio Shack universal replacement power supply like 273-1773 or 273-1776 or 273-1667 with the proper "Adaptaplug" that goes with it. It should do nicely and be sure to observer the proper polarity of the plug so that it will match your unit. Good luck.
