Sennheiser 740-776 MhZ has a broken on/off switch and is out of warranty.

Is the OEM the only means to repair?

Hi,

You can order those switches by your local Sennheiser dealer. It's not a hard job to repair it.
Your dealer can also do that, I'll think your switch is repaired for $20.

Gerard

Sennheiser HDR120 - missing transmitter / alternative OR replacement?

The system is working in the 860 Mhz range, so not that common. Most of the time it is cheaper to by a complete new system then to tray to buy components. Just keep looking in the thrift stores you find a transmitter for this headphone for a good price.

How do you repair a sennheiser sk100 jack socket

I assume you mean the mic plug/jack. Bent pins or broken connectors will require a new jack and/or plug installed and they are not easy to do. These 3.5 mm jack connectors require both a light touch during install and soldering. If you're a pro then start shopping for a replacement 3.5 mm mono jack but be warned. The jack may solder directly to the PC board....which reminds me. Look for broken connections from jack to PC board..a common failure point and resolder as needed.

There's no sound coming out from left earphone

Try your headphones in a different audio device. If the problem persists than the headphones have a split in the wiring for the left earbud. If you are under warranty then Sennheiser will happily repair your headphones.

Radio will not turn on even when I have it plugged iinto an ac outlet.

>> Problem with the Compaq Pentium III, 450 MHz Processor
>> will not turn on

Try some other device in that AC outlet, to ensure that the outlet is working.

Look for any "master" on/off switch on the back, which may override the on/off switch on the front panel.

If the device is still under warranty, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.
Note that purchasing with some credit-cards "doubles" the manufacturer's warranty.

If the radio is worth more than $100, take it to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting.

Broken On/Off Switch

Yes, the switch is available from Sennheiser parts, and if you can get to it and know how to work with SMD's, it's quite easy.

Broken power switch

Hi,

If you have a G1 SKM100 mic, the small on/off switch is an SKQLLC Tact switch made by ALPS. I don't know what's in a G2 or anything about the ones with the orange button. I just replaced the on/off switch and it took about 20mins. It's a bit fiddly but not too bad so long as you have a reasonably fine-tipped soldering iron. If you're in the USA then it look like there are a number of distributors who will sell one-offs. I'm in the UK and had to go back to the place I originally bought the mic from (DM music), who got it from Sennheiser and then sold it to me. For some reason Sennheiser wouldn't sell it to me direct. Good luck.

John
