The power button on my RCA television will blink three times when pressed, but wont power up. When it first happened, if we we're diligent and repeatedly pressed it, it would power up eventually. It started taking longer and longer to force it to power up, and now it wont power up at all Whats going on?

Most likely the CP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors have failed. Very common problem with that chassis. You can get the repair kit by the same name which also has the CD with instructions at www.tvrepairworld.com

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. could be power supply problem or high voltage problem. check caps in main power supply first.look for caps that have tops puffed up ususlly three or four.....
you need a new flyback and a CP150 Capacitor. If your chassis is the ITC222 you need flyback number 259296 you can get replacement flyback and the CP150 at the following link and they send detailed photo instructions so you can easially do the repair yourself. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
the flyback error is usally the power led will blink three times when power is pressed then go out. does your set do that when the power is pressed one time?
Blinking power light is usually due to bad capacitors on the power supply. See the tip for RCA atc336 under my profile that can apply to your set as well.
