I'm pretty sure that each of the wires had a line on them. On the front left one had a red line and the other had a black line on it. I noticed that most of the lines had had black lines, but the other lines always had a different color on them

On the front left, I think the colors were green. I'm pretty sure that both wires had lines on them. One wire had a red pin stripe and the other had a black. Infact I noticed all the wires had a black pin stripe. The other wires the color varied.

Check by using a DVM, hope that you have one.
The DVM is a digital volt meter.
You can buy it new for under 35 dollars.
Set DVM on OHM(the horseshoe sign) around 500 or under.
Connect black lead to black socket and red lead to red socket of DVM.
Turn on DVM
Disconnect Car Battery, negative post.
Touch black lead to ground(metal of car) and the red lead to wire to locates grounding wire. When meter reads "OOO", that's ground wire.
You can use that mode for checking open circuit(broken wire) or closed circuit(shorted wire).

Hope they are helpful.

Usually power is the wire that is solid colour. The ground or NEG- wire has a trace on it

I am needing a diagram on the stereo wires for a 1994 Dodge Stealth RT. The stereo was gone when I purchased the car and the moron prior to my owning it cut the wires at the plug. Can you help me.

General color code for most cars is:
Yellow constant 12v power
Red 12v power when ignition is on
black ground.

It would be best if you had or got a multimeter/volt meter (sears or radio shack). then check for 12v and 12v when ignition is on.

If the speaker wires are in sets of two find out which pair goes to each speaker is pretty easy. Check at each speaker the color of the wires.
If you can't get to the speaker - Get a 1.5v D battery and with each pair, strip each wire. when you hold one wire against the - side of the battery and tap the other wire to the + side the speaker will make a light popping noise.

Hope this helps

No power to pass side power window on 2002 dodge ram pickup remove motor try on diver side work fine

it's most likely the switch or the wiring. I would go with the switch first. I had the same problem once on a 1992 accura legend.

Adding line out inputs for RCA cables to amp

Hello ssmotorcity,

Here's a link to modifiedlife's Durango page showing the wire colors.

http://www.modifiedlife.com/2005-dodge-durango-car-radio-stereo-audio-wiring-diagram/

If you are adding a LOC for an amp to drive a sub, you are probably better off using the rear speaker wires, the last four wires shown on the listing. If you are adding an amp to drive all 4 channels, then of course, you need to convert both fronts and rears. The simple method is to tap directly into the appropriate wires and connect them to the line converter. If you do not want to tap the wires, you can purchase aftermarket wiring harnesses that are made to plug directly into your vehicle radio and/or the vehicle wiring harness. The Metra part number for a stock radio harness is 71-6502. It plugs into the radio and provides pigtail connections for power and speakers. There is, of course, a harness that plugs into the vehicle harness itself, allowing you to make the connections without any cutting or tapping of the original wiring.

Hope this helps.
