Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

My ISE Model 333 jammed. When the switch was flipped, it hummed. I used the allen wrench to make it turn but now when it's turned on it sounds like the motor is turning but not the blades. It's spinning but not disposing.

Thanks a lot. That's what it sounded like to me. I wasn't aware of the recurring problems with that model when we bought. I'll try a new one this time.

Sounds like the shaft the connects the blades to the motor broke. you need to replace the disposal with a new one. I recommend the ICE Bagger 5. It is a more durable disposal. The 333 have always had a problem sense they were relived. Sense I have been remodeling houses and being a handyman I have replace at least 50 to 60 of the 333.

How to fix loud hum and no heating in Sharp model R-308KW?

There could be a variety of reasons why this happens, but the likeliest
reason is the secondary interlock or monitor switch is broken. These are micro switches that tell the microwave that the door is closed. If this switch is broken, then the microwave thinks the door is still open and the carousel table won't turn, and the oven will not heat up.
I replaced an interlock switch last Saturday. The switch was $7.00 and took me an hour.
Ask your local repair person to test the interlock and monitor switches first, then go from there.
Good luck,

Rational selfcook oven say service 21

Service 21 refers to your humidity control valve (climavalve) did not make a full revolution in the time allotted (about 20 seconds). Pop open the front control panel by inserting and turning a 5mm allen key into the opening on the top of the oven. While the oven is at the home screen, flip the dip switch #1 on the back of the control board to the up or on position. On the screen you should now see a new icon resembling some tools, like a wrench and screwdriver, click this icon. Go to Basic Settings and scroll to the right once until you come to Basic Settings 1.2. It should say drain valve and flap with some numbers at the bottom. F-t is the number we want to focus on, take notice of the number there, usually 18-20 seconds. Push the start button to the right of flap, this time will change to 0 while the flap is re-initializing. After 20 seconds or so a new number should come up, if it doesn't or it is over 20 seconds by a lot then you need to replace your humidity control valve.

Additionally every time you turn on your oven the climavalve will cycle, checking to make sure it is working correctly, if you interrupt this cycle by powering off the oven you can simulate this error falsly, to rectify the error turn off the oven and turn it back on and wait a good minute for all of the self testing components to finish their checks.

I have a moen 7637 single handle kitchen faucet that leaks around the stem. How do I take the lever off.

1) Use a small sharp-pointed knife and pop out the little plastic Moen logo at the bottom of the front side of the handle (and don't lose it!)
2) Lift the lever up a bit (the water may turn on) until you can see a small screw with an allen wrench socket.
3) Unscrew the allen-head screw; the handle will lift straight up.

Look down into the faucet; there's a philllips head screw. The leaking may simply be caused by this screw being loose.

Disposal won't start. Is there a reset button?

usually on the bottom of the unit, but first check to see if you have voltage to the device. if it hums when you turn it on, its getting power and may be jammed with something. first make sure its not being jammed by something. On the bottom of the unit is an allen wrench slot that you can use to turn the motor by hand, this will sometimes free up a stuck disposal.

Sounds like the motor that turns the reduction gears which ultimately pushes the ram could be seized up. If an object was jammed inside which was to much for the motor to handle it could cause it to draw too much current seize up the motor.

Kenmore 1995 Built in Microwave humming sound only when door is close

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

1800 XL JVM1860BD - won't work

It sounds like your controller may be failing. Or it could be an electrical line problem. Any other electrical itmes giving you trouble? Has anyone measured the voltage level of your power line? It should be around 110-125 volts AC. If it's significantly lower or higher, you may have a bad connection in your breaker panel or in the wiring leading to the home.
