Usb doesnt recognized by the computer

    The Software for my Zen V Plus is installed on PC, but when I plug in my V Plus the PC tells me I it has found a new device and tells me to upload the software. When I open Creative Zen Media Explorer it advises me that the device is not connected. I have un-installed and re-installed the software several times and cannot correct the problem, any ideas?

    Mine also has problems with the usb port. i connected it to my xbox 360 with the same usb cord and it worked fine.

    My player turned itself off during download and I can't turn it back on. What can I do to fix this.

    My player will only power on when i connect it to my pc, but the screen is frozen. My computer says no device is connected, but the usb cord still powers on the player, however it will not charge.

    I've downloaded the CD to new laptop....I've plugged in to charge MP3 player and nothing happened and indicated that the device was not plugged in?? I need to know if the MP3 is not working or is the computer not reading it correctly to charge? or is there a short in the connector wire? How to figure this out would be helpful?

Make sure you have media player 11
If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
Download recovery tool off creative's website.
go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

Only works with XP or Vista

Search for hacked drivers if you have something else.

Zen v plus 8g


If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

Usb wont recognize


There are several diffrent reasons this could be:
  1. USB cabel has a short
  2. USB jack on computer\ZenV might be damaged
  3. You may need to reinstall ZenV softwear

My computer does not recognize my Creative zen


Go into device manager in control panel in add/remove hardware and find the usb port its plugged into and uninstall then reinstall the driver.

Zen V Plus Help Needed


Hi, I had the same problem with my Zen V Plus. I held the volume + button in and connected the Zen to the computer using the USB cable and the Zen came back to life ! Try it - it might just work like it did for me.

Usb is not recognized


unplug it altogether! put a pin in the reset hole, but dont worry this will only take everything off and then put it back on again. everything WILL be on the zen player still... Wait for it to load media library, which is stored on the computer. Plug it back in. It shoud work! If it doesnt do it again. And again... and again...

DO NOT WORRY IT WILL WORK EVENTUALLY!!!

No Display


i can help with the computer registering it...

insert zen v plus install cd
exit out of autorun for cd
go to control panel
click on system
click on the hardware tab
click on device manager
click on portable devices
right click on your USB device with the yellow warning sign
go to properties
when it tells you that the drivers arent installed... go to the browse button and select your zen v plus install disk
hit ok and it will find the drivers that way...

as for thedisplay... once you get the computer to recognize its there troubleshoot it.

Hi,
try aa different USB Port if your computer Has One.
Turn the power On The MPEG Player on and off when it,s Connected.
If this does,nt help.
Replace your USB lead, it is possibly broken internally, or player fault.

Creative Zen Nano Plus FROZEN!!!


here is a fix if your creative zen nano plus just hang on the creative logo when you turn your player on.
download, Creative ZEN Nano Plus firmware.
you can find it at the creative website, download section.
double click the file you just dl'ed, now make sure your
zen nano player is already connected to your pc when you run the file. it may take a bit of time before your pc can detect your zen nano be patient, a window prompt will soon appear asking if you want to update your firmware with the one youve just dl'ed.
now, dont worry if the firmware is the same as the one already
installed in your zen nano, just continue with the update.
you can also check the box in which there is the option of also formatting the drive. ( note: all files in your zen nano will be lost)
after the firmware is flashed you can now play and transfer files to your zen nano plus.
