Most likely your power supply has been damaged. Seek a repair service for this.

Computer wont turn on

Make sure the tower is getting power. There will be a green light on the back of the tower where the power cord goes. Make sure the cord is snug and that it is securely plugged in to your power source - I'm hoping it is a power surge strip and in which case, make sure the surge strip didn't get unplugged or turned off. If you have it plugged directly in to the wall then make sure that outlet has power by plugging something else in to it that you know works. After doing all of this, make check to see if there is a light on the back of your pc. If not, unplug the power from the back of the tower, wait 30 seconds at least, and then plug it back in. Hit the power button on the front just once, if it doesn't power up, press and hold the button in for a 2 seconds and release. If that doesn't work, your power supply may have gone bad. That happens from time to time. Good luck, hope this helps!

I have a toshiba 51HC85. It will not power on the power button is flashing and we smelled a strong oder like something was burning

First is UNPLUG AND DO NOT TRY TO USE THE SET AGAIN.

Have someone who knows what they are doing open set now and look for burnt parts--the smell may lead you to the area where problem is.

Try pressing the power button for like 10 seconds until it completely powers off. And then try again to power it on.

If this does not work, do let me know to give you other suggestions.

Toshiba 51H93 won't turn on **HELP**

Good Day, jsilver05;
That's a very good TV, sorry you're having a problem. I have the same TV.
1. The blurring of the pic may be an indication of a convergence problem.
2. The surge protector is not a fail safe device, it will reduce damage to the TV but will not not 100% protect it.
It is possible that by turning the power off may damaged the already weaken convergence circuit, but more then likely some other electronic device failed.Like a voltage regulator, high voltage device, and etc.
At this point I would recommend that you call a factory authorized service dealer and them come out and give you an estimate, or you can e me if want troubleshoot TV if you have digital meter etc.
Good Luck, big IRISH, mmrkcar@yahoo.com.

V-chip code forgotten

I found this to work on my Toshiba TV/VHS combo MV19M4 after trying others suggestions that had worked on similar models but nothing worked on mine. Maybe it will work for yours. Follow these steps:

1: Unplug the TV for 1 minute then plug it back in.
2: In the menu select "TV Set Up".
3: Move the blinking block to beside "V-CHIP Set" BUT DO NOT SELECT IT.
4: Hold in the number 1 button on the remote.
5: Hold in the volume down button on the TV.

Your TV will turn off. Give it a few seconds to reset itself and then turn it back on and you will have to completely reprogram your settings. When you go to the V-CHIP settings it will ask for your new code.
