Question about Shavers

Braun shaver 8595 I press the Info key. Does not work. I have charged the shaver for at least two hours. No display. Booklet says that when there is No display--shave is completely discharged. Shaver works OK. After shaving, I noticed that the Demo tried to work but it kept moving. Then I noticed that I could not find out anything about the duration of the last shave, the number of shaves and so on.

    About 2-3 weeks ago I bought a HQ6900 series 3-headed shaver from the Shaver Shop in the Westfield Plaza, Woden, ACT.

    Unfortunately, I have mislaid the receipt and am currently searching for a likely credit card transaction from my bank statement.

    In the meantime let me describe my problem :

    The shaver worked beautifully and I was delighted by its quietness and closeness of shave. This week however I noticed a louder vibration and reduced shaving action so I took the shaver head off to clean the heads but found only a small amount of fluff to clean out and nothing apparently wrong with the 3 cutter heads (similar to my previous shaver). The 3 rotating drivers seemed to be turning in unison when switched on.

    On installing the complete head and switching on I found that the top right head vibrated abnormally while the other two didn't.

    After taking the head off again and gently finger testing the 3 drivers I found the top left and bottom drivers were easy to press in and could be wobbled 360? but the top right driver resisted pressing and could not be wobbled like the other 2. It could be pressed to the left and would remain at '9 o'clock' position when released.

    A closer inspection showed that the abnormal driver was rotating eccentrically compared to the other two so I can only conclude that there is a fault in the drive train below.

    I returned the shaver to the Shaver Shop this morning and the salesman said he could not do anything without the receipt, but he did comment that it wasn't working as it should.

    It is unfortunate for me that I cannot find the receipt, but I will have to wait for my wife to return to see if we can trace the credit card transaction from our bank statement - she does all our financial dealings as I am over 90.

    I have had less than 10 shaves since purchase and the shaver has not been mistreated in any way.

    I would appreciate your advice on what can be done.

It must be in charge for more than three hours.Make sure that charger is working well.

Hi,

How old is the shaver? It could be that the batteries are getting weak.

Shaver when turned on will not start right away. It has been taking longer each day.


Most likely, the batteries are about dead and need replaced. You will find compatible batteries for Braun model 8595 on shaveroutlet.com at the link below. You need two batteries.

Long hair trimmer wont push down

Clean and Renew stand for braun 8595 does not seem to cycle properly...after shaving and placing in unit, it randomly seems to clean and is stuck on cleaning cycle (normal light blinking, no charge) I then...


The circuit board on the shaver may have become faulty. One thing you can try is to fully charge the shaver first, directly connected to the outlet, and then try using the cleaning base. Also, be sure that the fluid level is sufficient. Lastly, you may be able to buy a used but working condition cleaning station off of eBay. New replacements are a bit costly.

Can I repair a cleaning unit (5468) for a Braun 8595 shaver? I think I pulled it out before releasing it from the clean function!


Does the cleaning station no longer recognize the shaver? If so, it's possible that the contacts have been bent out of position. It's a bit tricky to fix, though. You'll need to take the unit apart and then bend the contacts back into position. Alternatively, you can buy used but working examples of these cleaning stations off of eBay.

Cannot switch from '1' to '2' to '3'


The problem is that the switch assembly is broken. You will need to replace it. It comes with the whole outer case of the shaver and is available at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

Yo replace it, you will need to first remove the 'cap' on the bottom of the shaver. This is a piece of plastic that surround the hole on the bottom of the shaver where the cord plugs in. Gently pry it off with a small flat screwdriver or similar object. Once removed, the side grips will simply pull off revealing 4 screws on the back. Remove screws to remove the back cover. Then list out the internal components.
Reassemble in reverse order

Braun 8595 clean and renew will not charge or clean my razor, in fact it just ignores my razor

Display error


right under the lcd is a reset button - try holding it down a few seconds then release ... after about 3 times -- the demo2 went away and I had my battery indicator showing.
