Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

No power the dishwasher is not getting power. The plug is hot, the breakers in the house are all ok and we've unplugged the dishwasher and let it sit several minutes and then plugged it back in. Still no power to the console of the dishwasher. Model # 665.16053402

Well, since we have had nothing but problems with a kitchen full of new top-of-the-line kenmore appliances, my husband figured we had nothing to loose and he tore into it. Found out that it was the internal fuse in the dishwasher. This is the second time it has blown and go figure, its out of warranty. NEVER again will we have a kenmore appliance in our house. Were done!!

Well if your main power that supplies the dishwasher is good then you need to replace the main control unit of the dishwasher

I can't say for sure but it sounds like you lost house power to dishwasher. Being that the breaker is OK remove the dishwasher from cabinet and check power at the dishwasher. Its quite possible that mice may have ate through the wiring ether in the wall or at the washer.

Kenmore dryer 70 series 66722690 - has power but won't start (no humming noise, no ticking noise from timer, and no light when you open door) nothing!

I would check the breaker before you go any further. Here are some things to remember when you do this. 1) The breaker for the dryer is generally located outside on the side of the house somewhere near the electric meter. Most 220vac breakers are, which include any electric range, cooktop, wall oven, etc. 2) When your checking the breaker, actually physically touch it. Sometimes breakers can trip a but the spring that actually pulls the breaker to off position is weak and by visual inspection would appear on. Just simply reach in and tap the bar lightly in the off direction. If it pops over to the off position, turn it back on then go check your dryer. If the breaker passes inspection, I would unplug the machine because there migfht be a short at the terminal block where the plug connects to the dryer. After you've unplugged it, remove the back and check to see if everything is ok. I have a strong feeling that you won't need to get to this point cause I'm betting on breaker.

Does not start

Have someone look over your breaker box and reset all GFI plugs these are the plugs in your house with the Black and Red buttons press all of these around the kitchen near the dishwasher and breaker box. If you finally determine the appliance is getting power and is plugged in,and it still does not operate. You then want to look into the safety switch on the door locking mechanism it has failed.

My dishwasher stopped working, bought within the past few months, it seems like no power is getting to it. I've checked the breaker and all other appliances in house are fine.

Please provide make and model number of the dishwasher along with some indication of the last cycle it completed before this problem occured.

PF signal comes on, and dishwasher stops running

PF = Power Failure, did you make sure outlet is ok and not a loose plug? Any short in outlet will do that, OR a loose wire at the motor to the dishwasher. UNPLUG unit and look under it for a gray box that the plug leads from. One or 2 screws will remove that box and verify all wires are connected properly.. MAKE sure unit is UNPLUGGED

more than likely fuse is gone in plug. take dish washer out. change fuse in plug. if it doesnt work get extension lead and run it from a socket that definatly does work and plug washer into that. if nothing then its internal.

Hi
Door latch.
Open and close the door to make sure the door latch is securely fastened.
Check the dishwasher wiring for a possible loose connection where it connects to the house wiring.
Fuses or circuit breakers.
Check your house fuses or circuit breakers to make sure you have power to the dishwasher.

Dishwasher quit working

HI, there are four problem spots that i recommend checking. these are the most common hot spots for a non responsive dishwasher. Check each area thoroughly to address this issue.

1. No power to the dishwasher
Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch
Replace if defective.

3. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Dishwasher blows breaker just sitting there off.

Are you sure the unit is off ?
If you have unplugged the unit and no breaker tripping occurs and tripps when machine is plugged in but switched off chances are you plug socket(on the wall) is the culpret here in which case I suggest you get a qualified electrician out to have a look.
